Malaysia’s PM establishes diplomatic relations with Vatican, despite religious turmoil

Malaysia, where Muslims make up 60 percent of the population, has long been cited as an example and model of a progressive multiracial and multiracial Muslim country. However, its peaceful coexistence has been strained by interreligious tensions and conflicts between the Malay majority and the ethnic Chinese and Indian minorities who are mostly Christians, Buddhists and Hindus. Decisions taken by the prime minister's Department Religious Affairs have exacerbated the situation. A leading example is the ruling that Christians stop using "Allah, the Malay term for God, despite the fact that this has been an accepted practice in Malaysia as it is in Indonesia and the Middle East. Malaysia's Home Ministry prohibited Catholics from using the word in their Malay-language publications since 2007. Customs officials seized 15,000 Bibles from Indonesia because they used the word "Allah" as a translation for God.

However, Malaysia's High Court overturned a government ban, ruling that the word Allah is not exclusive to Muslims and that others, including Catholics, who had been prohibited by the Home Ministry from using the word in the Malay-language edition of the Catholic monthly the Herald, can now use the term. Incensed by the decision, militants attacked several churches and pledged to prevent Christians from using the word "Allah." In the aftermath of the attacks, the Malaysian High Court in response to a government appeals granted a stay order on Jan. 7; the government appealed to the higher Court of Appeal to overturn the ruling.
News reports of the eeting between the Prime Minister and the pope have emphasized the importance of the visit in terms of domestic Malaysian politics.

The New York Times noted that analysts say the visit “is intended to signal a wish to mend ties with the country’s Christians” and BBC reported that it is “intended to reassure Christians in his country, who have long complained of discrimination.” Most reports also note some of the current tensions, giving as an example the attempt to prohibit Christians from using the word “Allah” when referring to God in the Malay language.

This example highlights one of the ironies of Prime Minister Najib’s meeting with the pope, because the ban on the use of the word “Allah” by Malaysian Christians is in fact an action initiated by the Najib government. As noted above, when the Kuala Lumpur High Court overturned the government ban, the Najib government appealed the decision. Currently the government is involved in a case dealing with the Home Ministry’s confiscation of Christian CDs using the word “Allah.” This government policy has been opposed by major opposition leaders including those leading Muslim organizations who are viewed as more explicitly Islamic in their policy orientation. Anwar Ibrahim, former Deputy Prime Minister and a leader of the Malaysian opposition, for example, put it simply: “Muslims have no monopoly over ‘Allah’.” (Wall Street Journal, 15 January 2010).

If Prime Minister Najib wants to assure Malaysian Christians of his desire for a united Malaysia, the solution would seem simple. Rather than going all the way to Rome to talk with the pope, his government could bring to an end its support for policies like banning the use of the word “Allah.” The recent rough suppression of opposition demonstrations, which included Christian demonstrators, does not help to create a sense of security for Malaysian religious minorities.

Kota Kinabalu City Hall(DBKK) once again made a mockery of themselves today at 2,30pm,when a battalion of it's Enforcement Personals swamped the premises of PARTI MAJU SABAH (SAPP) Headquarters at Luyang,reasons- it's signage board bearing the wordings,BERSIH,BERANI,BENAR. Head of the Licensing Unit of DBKK,Sairullizam Bin Sukor,was in his element displaying arrogance,normally displayed by a person with instructions from "Higher Up's".

If the present UMNO/BN Government were "Bersih" in their administration,"Berani" in fighting for the people and "Benar" in their promises and not only during election time,then UMNO/BN should not be fearing those sacred words.

Fear has reaped into the nervous system of UMNO/BN-hence anything with words such as Bersih is now taboo to them.Perhaps DBKK should mirror themselves if they are Bersih at all.In the fiasco that lasted for almost 2 hours,the Fire Department were also called in to assist to demolish the signage board placed on the 2nd floor of the Party's office.Onlookers were seen running,in an apparent move to see if their shop lots were on fire,with the presence of the Fire Engine.In the end it was a hoax,only to know that DBKK had wasted taxpayers money by summoning the Fire Department to assist them in an illegal mission.

DBKK had apparently issued a notice to SAPP at 2.30pm(11th.July.2011),demanding them to remove the signage board with immediate effect(DBKK No/BPL:1100-23/0/1 Kit.30(23) for violating-UUK 3(1) & 13(1)(2)(3) Undang-Undang Kecil (IKLAN) 1983,which was sign by the Director General,Datuk Yeo Boon Hai and copied to the Mayor,Datuk Abidin Madingkir,City Police Chief ACP Sofi and DBKK's Enforcement Director.

Meanwhile SAPP's lawyers had faxed a letter to the Director General of DBKK threatening to take legal action against them if they continue to harass SAPP of their Constitutional rights.The letter also mentioned violation of the principles of natural justice.

Shortly later at about 3.15pm,City Police Chief ACP Mohd Sofi arrived with his personals. SAPP President,Datuk Yong Teck Lee was seen discussing with the Police Chief and Sairullizam Sukor,on the existing laws available and whither DBKK had the legal right to continue their illegal demolition exercise. Where is the natural justice that's found in our Constitution,isn't the law clear enough that we must be given 14 days notice?The City Police Chief who acted more as a mediator,looked rather mind boggled that DBKK was unaware of the existing laws.Doesn't DBKK have a Legal Department with "Qualified Lawyers",or are they also ignorant of the law themselves?

Kota Kinabalu residents must now take serious view of the incompetency of DBKK,we may have been hoodwinked or perhaps even "conned"by them in the past,because of our ignorance.The Business Community should also now re-examine their payments made for licenses,fees and compounds in the past,and not be intimidated by them again.

Back to the BERSIH,BERANI,BENAR, signage board fiasco.After a 15 minute discussion on the existing laws,DBKK's Licensing Head,Sairullizam finally gave in and agreed to the 14 days notice,much to his displeasure,he must have thought that he was talking to morons and nincompoops who were ignorant of the law.At this point,Yong Teck Lee requested him for an official letter stating the 14 days notice,much to the shock of many including the Police Chief,Sairullizam responded by saying,"my word is the notice".Where did this "clown" come from,is this the kind of Officers that DBKK employs?In GOD we trust,anyone else sorry lah.

Finally,I guess this Sairullizam came to his senses,with his conscience probably telling him,"punya bodoh aku"and he agreed to have a letter issued in writing on the 14 days notice and the crowd begun dispersing.Shockingly at 4.35pm DBKK all of a sudden became "efficient",a letter ( DBKK No/BPL:1100-23/0/1 Kit.30(24).by fax was received by SAPP and it's contents giving SAPP the 14 days notice in accordance with the law.If UMNO/BN was BERSIH,BERANI and BENAR,today's fiasco could have been avoided.

I ask Yong Teck Lee later while having coffee,in not to many words,how would you sum up today's fiasco,his respond was,"Abuse of power for political motives".

Rich and Foamy Support For BERSIH 2.0

It was a proud day for all Malaysians, as they gathered all over the globe with sheer determination and send UMNO/BN a firm message.."Your arrogance and intimidation worries us no more”. Courageously toiling ahead with their heads high, it would be outrageous to believe that the power of the people displayed on the 9th.July has not frighten the wits out of Najib Tun Razak and his bunch of scoundrels. If at all Najib and UMNO think that their "3 million" members can intimidate Malaysians with their threats, they had better think again.

With Najib boasting that UMNO is not at all concerned with Bersih and is not afraid to call for elections, I dare Najib to dissolve Parliament, if he has the balls to do so and call for elections. The people are ready - and make no mistake - the 13th General Elections will be UMNO/BN's last as the ruling government.

While the weak who preferred to stay at home, and the many who "advocate change" in Facebook, were very conveniently missing, tens of thousands of Malaysians bravely took the government to task with their strong presence demanding for free and clean elections. Many were also arrested and one had to die all in the name of justice. The world witnessed the most brutal attacks on Malaysians by the Police in what was only meant to be a peaceful rally by the people for reforms in the electoral roll. Even Anwar Ibrahim was not spared of the brutality displayed by the Police. What was UMNO/BN so afraid off?

The end result of the 9th July brutality will go down in history as the day UMNO/BN 'butchered" its people just to stay in power. World leaders are beginning to view the Malaysian Government as a "desperate government" ,prepared to go to any or all lengths - they couldn't care 2 hoods what the world leaders think or say. After all, it’s the very same government that has told Malaysians, “if you're not happy, you can get out of Malaysia".

Bersih 2.0 has fulfilled its objectives to the great admiration of Malaysians. Of course, casualties in any war is unavoidable, and Bersih's noble cause is no different. Thousands of supporters and activist were arrested, brutally injured and as sure as the sun rises from the east, these activists will continue their fight against the UMNO/BN government until it is shown the exit or better yet thrown out.

In Sabah, Sabahans, although small in numbers, came out with great determination knowing very well the circumstances that awaited them. Most Sabahans generally are passive, as their way of life is all about "cari makan" with no desire to disturb the hornest’s nest. The biggest disappointment was the convenient absence of Pakatan Rakyat (PKR,DAP and PAS) in organizing a rally, even though if it had to disguise itself under the name of Bersih. Where were its leaders or are there any? Pakatan Rakyat Sabah has boasted about REFORMS,UBAH and CHANGE, but where were they when it mattered most? Surely their calendars could have been readjusted to ensure that they stand for the people, and not only appear during elections. Unlike their counterparts in Kuala Lumpur, PR Sabah was a total shame.

The only consolation in addressing the Bersih issues was a gathering of brave Sabahans who gathered under the scorching heat at 1pm at the Bornion Centre, Luyang, Kota Kinabalu. Many bravely attired themselves in YELLOW, even with the strong presence of the Police. I was privileged to have been with them, standing steadfast, firm and not bothered with the Police presence who incidentally, were fully armed. But my utmost congratulations to the Police, who were not only professional but conducted themselves with high esteem.

Having said that, will Sabahans rise to the occasion and redeem their lost pride, or are they not bothered at all? If the participation of Malaysians in Bersih 2.0 in Malaysia and around the globe is of any indication, the political tsunami in 2008 will be transformed into a massive volcanic eruption - the mother of all earthquakes that will see Malaysians voting out UMNO/BN.

God Willing, may the 13th General Election be the decisive moment.

An Open Letter to Australia

Your Excellency,

We, concerned citizens of Malaysia, are of the understanding that Lynas Corporation has made one or more payments to the Malaysian Government.

We suspect and fear that this has somewhat helped to fast track the Lynas Advanced Materials Plant (LAMP) approval process - without public knowledge and through a very loose Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) despite a complex and hazardous project.

Under Malaysia's Official Secrets Act, we will have little, if any, hope of getting any truth out of our Government, even though this matter is of utmost national interest.

In the interests of both Malaysia and Australia, both Lynas and our Government should be transparent about the approval process.

As Australia has been a strong advocate of good governance and is committed to stamping out corruption, we call upon your good Government to compel Lynas Corporation to adhere to its stated value of honesty and transparency to reveal the deal it has struck with the Malaysian Government and also to make all payment records public. This is of interest not only to all Malaysians but also to the Australian shareholders of Lynas Corporation.

We trust that the Australian Government is committed to protecting the good name of Australia and will not risk one corporation's headlong quest for profit , at the expense of the health of Malaysians and the local environment, to tarnish the good reputation of Australia.

We therefore urge the Australian Government to investigate Lynas Corporation for any possible wrongdoings in its dealings with the Malaysian Government. We were appalled and disgusted to learn that Lynas Corporation had offered a job to the soon-to-be-retired Director-General of the Malaysian Atomic Agency Licensing Board (AELB), Yang Berbahagia Datuk Raja Abdul Aziz Raja Adnan, by his own admission. I am sure you will agree with me that such an offer is tantamount to fair dinkum conflict of interest, collusion and corruption.

Of Racist Ranters and Religious Bigots

A Ketuanan and Religious Chauvinist has ignited a torch proclaiming a Jihad against Non-Muslims in Malaysia, particularly the Christians, who number about 3 million. The peed-piper sounding the siren is none other then Malaysia's very own "Osama bin Laden", UMNO's mouthpiece and mongrel, the incorrigible Ibrahim Ali.

Let us not be deceived that the UMNO/BN government, Utusuan Malaysia, Perkasa, Pembela and many other of its crony ‘jihad’ agencies are not working hand in glove to achieve their objectives.

It would be interesting to see if Ibrahim Ali or any other of UMNO’s ketuanan melayu stooges would dare to make such statements in Sabah or Sarawak which are predominately Christians or call for 1Melayu 1Bumi or a Jihad against the Christians.

Not too long ago, Church officials were instructed to remove crucifixes and avoid singing hymns when PM Najib attended the Archbishop's Christmas party.

This was the beginning of a war against the Christians and all right-thinking Malaysians, who believe in peace and harmony. UMNO had signalled to the masses that it would resort to anything to stay in power, even declaring marshall law to continue staying in Putrajaya. Shivers seem to be running through their spineless "partners in crime", the BN component parties.

Will there be another May 13 in the event Pakatan Rakyat wins the 13th General Election?

As months went by, an earthquake rocked the country, the issue of the Alkitab surfaced. The bible was translated into the only language known to the natives of Sabah and Sarawak since 1888, in their daily worships - Bahasa Malaysia. But UMNO unleashed its "gangsters" to wage an open war against the Christians in Malaysia.

The Holy Bible in Bahasa Malaysia, which were confiscated by the Home Ministry, were later released conditionally, stamp-marked with the words"For Christians Only, By Order Of The Home Ministry”.

The Christians came out roaring with displeasure, and rightly so, that the holy bible had been defaced.

Faced with the possibility of loosing the Sarawak state elections, UMNO/BN came out with a "10 point solution" to the Alkitab issue to pacify the Christians, thus resulting in BN winning the elections, although with a lesser number of seats in the state legislative assembly.

What was meant to be a "win-win solution" for the Christians in UMNO/BN's terminology, was short-lived when another of it's mouthpiece Pembela came out "waving their kris" calling for war against the Christians, that they will not have a Malay version of the Holy Bible, as this would confuse the "Ketuanan Melayu". Now the 10 point solution appears to be something of the past, as if it was never issued at all.

Sarawakians were once again hoodwinked. Hopefully it's not too late for Sarawakians to make amends in the 13th General Elections.

If the Alkitab issue was an earthquake, think again. UMNO's very own mouthpiece, Utusan Malaysia, ignited a C-4, with their lead story 'Christians would make Christianity the country's official religion and to have a Christian as Prime Minister". If shock waves were felt by you by the headlines, the UMNO/BN Government, catastrophically but not to the surprise of the majority of Malaysians, only issued a warning to the paper.

Christian leaders were subsequently "invited" for a luncheon meet with Najib, in what was supposed to be a "peace treaty", "showering of gifts" or even perhaps a warning, "keep your Christians at bay or we will unleash our kris for your blood"?

What actually did transpire at that lunch pow-wow is anyone's guess, but many were not too happy with the outcome.

But what we can conclude is, UMNO/BN will not respect or give way to any one. Interestingly, UMNO was extremely silent when his Majesty the Yang Dipertuan Agong attended the Royal wedding of Prince William and Princess Kate.

Ironically, no-one from either the PM's Department or the Agong's protocol dared to tell the English Royal Household to remove all Christian paraphernalia like crosses or to sing any hymns as it might be deemed offensive to the Malaysian Muslims.

Perhaps Ibrahim Ali should have been there and insisted Westminster Abbey remove all their crosses beforehand and also not allow the singing of hymns!!! Would he have dared? He knows that any such request would have been met firmly with a "Bugger off!" from the Brits, couched in diplomatic language, of course!!

Did his Majesty the King and Queen as well as the Sultan of Brunei and his consort feel uncomfortable whilst attending the Royal wedding? All right-thinking Malaysians will concur that they were comfortable and enjoyed every minute while they were there.

So we can say with conviction, that if our beloved King had no qualms being in a Church with hymns being sung, what gives the right to mongrels like Ibrahim Ali or Pembela or any other fanatical Muslims in Malaysia to ridicule and insult the Christians?

The Christians have always been a peace-loving people and will always remain so.

Can there be peace or religious harmony if retards like Ibrahim Ali are allowed to provoke and ignite racist ideologies?

The government must decide whether they want a truly 1Malaysia or a 1Melayusia!

For the sake of a safer and more peaceful Malaysia, I suggest they provide and place Ibrahim Ali, together with his puppeteers, in a rightful abode - an asylum for lunatics or a security enclosure both for their own 'protection' and the protection of peace-loving Malaysians from their venom.

Race, religion not issues for Sabah, Sarawak

The people in the two states had long ago decided that religion had to remain a private and personal affair, separate from politics.

Several Christian pastors in Peninsular Malaysia have reportedly discussed the idea of Christianity being the official religion of Malaysia. If any part of Malaysia has a case for making Christianity the official religion, it’s Sabah and Sarawak where the majority of the people, the natives or Orang Asal included, are overwhelmingly Christian.

Instead, the people in Malaysian Borneo decided from the very beginning that they would not have an official religion. The thought of making Christianity the official religion in Sabah and Sarawak never for one minute crossed the minds of the people in these two states. Religion had to remain a private and personal affair, separate from politics and the state.

This decision was reflected in the Cobbold Commission Report, the Inter-Governmental Committee Report and the 1963 Malaysia Agreement.

The Batu Sumpah – Oath Stone – in Keningau, Sabah, is also a reminder of the promises of Malaysia: no official religion; freedom of religion; respect for adat (customary law); and the state government holds authority over land. The people of the interior, in return, pledged loyalty to Malaysia.

The Oath Stone was meant to overcome the resistance of the people in the interior to Malaysia. They did not understand all the various documents on Malaysia and needed something simple to dramatically translate all their concerns into an enduring form that they could grasp.

The reality is that this provision on Sabah and Sarawak having no official religion has been observed more often than not in the breach. The goodwill of the people of Sabah and Sarawak has been taken for granted by the federal government.

Former Sabah state secretary Simon Sipaun, now under probe for sedition, best summed up the scenario when he told participants at an inter-party dialogue in Kota Kinabalu in early March that “life in Sabah was better before Malaysia”.

Sipaun pointed out that based on his personal experience in the civil service, that there was no Muslim-Christian conflict in Sabah before Malaysia.

No body-snatching cases

There were no issues like the term Allah – an attribute of God – being reserved only for Muslim use; the Bible not being allowed to be in Malay print; no cases of body snatching at the morgue; non-Muslims not being allowed freedom of worship and being forced to convert to Islam upon marriage to a Muslim; Muslims not being allowed freedom of worship including the right to leave the religion; and no case of Christians with “Muslim-sounding” names being listed by the authorities as Muslim.

Sipaun stressed that recruitment into the state civil service and promotions before Malaysia were based on merit and not race or religion. Likewise, scholarships were handed out on the basis of merit and not race and religion.

Before Malaysia, the last non-Muslim governor of Sabah was a British.

Since 1963, all governors in Sabah as in Sarawak have been Muslim and the Christians and others have been effectively denied the opportunity to occupy the post. The only time a Christian was appointed governor after 1963 was when Donald Stephens, the Huguansiou (paramount chief) of the Dusuns (including the Kadazan or urban Dusun) and Muruts, converted to Islam after a stint in “virtual exile” in the mid-1970s as High Commissioner to Australia.

Stephens had a brief first stint as chief minister but was ousted by Kuala Lumpur after he wanted Sabah’s participation in Malaysia “reviewed” upon Singapore’s exit in 1965. Stephens held that the partnership – Sabah, Sarawak, Singapore, and Malaya – that governed the Federation of Malaysia ceased to exist after the city state’s exit. Stephens wanted out.

Stephens made an even briefer second stint as chief minister in 1976 but this time as a Muslim by the name of Mohd Fuad. He came to an untimely end in a plane crash after he held out for a higher oil royalty for Sabah and not a measly five per cent. His predecessor, Mustapha Harun, was ousted on the same issue but lived to a ripe old age after looking on helplessly when Umno entered Sabah to displace and deregister his United Sabah National Organisation (Usno).

Between Stephens and Joseph Pairin Kitingan, another chief minister (1985-1994) and currently the Huguansiou, there was Peter Lo as an interim chief minister.

Another exception was during the rotation of the Sabah chief minister’s post after 1994 when three non-Muslims held the post for brief two-year stints – Yong Teck Lee, Bernard Giluk Dompok and Chong Kah Kiat – to be replaced thereafter by only Muslim chief ministers.

Again, the issue of race and religion seems to predominate in Sabah in line with the “ketuanan Melayu” – Malay supremacy – dictates of the Umno federal government.

Instant natives

Sabahans in general – and the same in Sarawak – are uncomfortable that the politics of race and religion in Peninsular Malaysia has invaded the body politic in their state and resulted in polarisation. This has pitted the Muslims, not so much the locals but the illegal immigrants, against the non-Muslims in every sphere of life in Sabah and Sarawak.

One of the most polarising issues has been the influx of 1.7 mostly Muslim immigrants from the Philippines and Indonesia to overwhelm the 1.5 million Sabahans. Most of the immigrants are illegals while a minority has employment passes.

To add insult to injury, many illegal immigrants appear to have been issued with Malaysian personal documents and this has facilitated their placement in the electoral rolls. This lies at the heart of the continuing marginalisation and disenfranchisement of Sabahans, the natives or Orang Asal in particular including local Muslims.

It’s not known how many thousand illegal immigrants have since become “instant natives” by the simple backdoor method of securing Malaysian personal documents, which place their birth officially as somewhere in Sabah. Officially, they are listed as “Malays”, a classification which did not exist in Sabah before 1963.

Muslims in Sabah are generally listed as Bajau, Suluk, Barunai (Brunei Malay), Irranun or Dusun. The last category may be Ranau, Bisaya or Orang Sungei, among others. Most Dusun in Sabah are Christian if they are not animists or pagans. The Dusun are also one of the two original native groups in neighbouring Brunei, the other being Dayak.

Sabahans and Sarawakians would not agree with any proposal that Christianity be recognised as the official religion of Malaysia or at least in their half of the country on the other side of the South China Sea. If Christians in Peninsular Malaysia want their religion to be the official one for the state, it’s their cause which they have to pursue on their own.

However, Sabahans and Sarawakians would very much want the race and religion factors to be removed from the politics and administration of their states. They would very much want life to be as it was before Malaysia when there was also no fear of the police, as Sipaun observed, no draconian laws like the Internal Security Act (ISA) and no emergency ordinances governing the populace.

Putrajaya should stop pursuing Umno’s “ketuanan Melayu” agenda in Sabah and Sarawak and ruling the state through local proxies. The politics in these states militates against such a mindset. The local populace does not have a fixation, as in Peninsular Malaysia, with the Chinese being in business or being wealthy.

Sarawak elections will decide the fate of the future generation,what you decide on the 16th.April,will either steer Sarawak into a new horizon or be doomed for another 47 years of hardship and continued raped.

Sabah Christian group wants to know the truth behind the Alkitab row

The Coalition of Sabah Christians (CSC) has called for a thorough investigation into the recent episode of impounding and stamping of 35,100 copies of Alkitab (Bahasa Malaysia bibles), by the relevant authorities, to determine the true motive behind such an act, whether it was politically-motivated, or otherwise.

The Group urged this after lodging a police report at the Karamunsing Police Headquarters here, on Saturday.What was most disheartening however was the lukewarm response from the Christian Community,as compared to the huge turnout in Petaling Jaya on the 26th.March.2011.But what was most significant was the presence of Muslim supporters that turn up,in support of the Christians.

However the Group’s spokesman Ronnie Klassen stressed that this is important as, such an act was not only a gross travesty of the Malaysian Christian community’s Constitutional right to practice their religious freely, but also a form of incitement and probably political ploy to divert the people’s attention away from the real issues affecting the country.

“We must not allow any individual to get away with such an insensitive, irresponsible and subversive act that could be politically-motivated, just like what happened in the past like the “Azan issue” involving the DAP MP for Seputeh, Teresa Kok, followed by the Churches-burning, and the infamous “cow head” incident.

“Hence, we demand to know who had actually instructed on the stamping of the Alkitab, whether it was from the Almighty Allah or, the Home Minister himself, and why?”

Klassen who is also the spokesman for the ad hoc Coalition of Malaysian Christians (COMC) in Peninsular Malaysia, had also made a similar police report on 26 March 2011 at the Petaling Jaya Police Station in Section 8, in which over 100 Christians which included Priest, Pastors and Church leaders were present.

Both COMC and CSC also detested the Home Minister Dato Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein’s recent response, that the confiscating and stamping of the Malay bibles was standard practice and not meant to deface the books.

“We find his statement to be incorrect, untrue and misleading. The Christian community and its representative bodies have never agreed to any wording to be endorsed on Bibles to say that it is only meant for Christians. It is an escalation, interference and subjugation of Malaysian Christians and their right to conduct religious education and worship freely,”

Klassen who is a well-known Sabah-based blogger cum Church activist further noted that the 1982 order issued under the Internal Security Act 1960 did not state that any form of words had to be endorsed on any copy of the Bible in Bahasa Malaysia.

“The latest letter from the Ministry of Home Affairs dated 15 March 2011 is therefore a set of new conditions imposed on the release of the impounded Bibles which is wholly unacceptable to us. This means that the Bahasa Malaysia Bible is now treated as a restricted item, and made subject to the control of the Malaysian Home Ministry and Government. This is wholly offensive and unacceptable to Malaysian Christians,”

“Any person who respects the Holy Scriptures of any religion would be appalled by such high-handed and disrespectful action,”

While noting that the Christian community in Malaysia has always acted in good faith and with great patience to find amicable solutions without compromising their fundamental beliefs, he regretted that such good faith has not been reciprocated by the Government.

“It is the government that has moved the goal posts over the years through a systematic imposition of unreasonable conditions and restrictions. Christians are horrified by the arrogance of the Home Ministry and its officials and the contemptuous act of defacing the Al-Kitab is viewed as a sacrilege,”

CSC also expressed regret with the recent remark of the Minister of Home Affairs Dato Seri Hishammudin Tun Hussein, asking Christian groups in the country to be “fair and reasonable” in the ongoing Alkitab row, after the CFM rejected the government’s overture to mask the Home Ministry’s stamp and serial numbering of the affected Malay bibles.

“Are we Christians in this country to be dictated by the Government in our religious faith, what happen to our constitutional right to freedom of religious practice as enshrined in the Federal Constitution?,”

He said both COMC and CSC which comprised of Christians of both Protestant and Catholic persuasions, were both outraged and hurt by the Malaysian Home Ministry’s unilateral action of desecration of the Al-Kitab (Malay bibles) stamped with serial numbers, government seals and warnings that the books are meant for Christians only.

“This is the first time in Malaysian history that Scriptures of Christians have been deemed illegal and a security threat. We view this as violation of Article 11 of the Malaysian Constitution, Article 2 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights 1948 and the enshrined rights of Malaysian Christians to practice their faith without restriction,”

He said both COMC and CSC fully concurred with and supported the recent firm stand taken by the Christian Federation of Malaysia (CFM) rejecting the Federal government’s overture in the Alkitab row, where it (Federal government) offered to mask the Home Ministry’s stamp and serial numbering of the affected Malay bibles.

CFC had contended that such an overture did not resolve the core issue which is the erosion of basic human rights protected by the Federal Constitution.

“We do not accept conditions that belittle Christian faith and religion and which contravene Article 11 of the Malaysian constitution and also Article 2 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights 1948,”.

He further said the Group does not accept the views by a certain quarters on Christianity and its practice and matters of faith as normative, or link the Al-Kitab row to the Catholic Church’s court case on the right to use the word “Allah” — the Arabic word for God — in its newspaper.

“The Al-Kitab and the “Allah” court case are separate issues; and the Federal government has no right to ban the Al-Kitab under the law. Such developments as Christianity being singled out as a threat is unacceptable, as there are no such conditions imposed on the holy books of other religions, including Islam.

We in CSC are seeking a just and amicable solution to this matter. In fact, in the 20 points agreement of Sabah and the 18 point agreement of Sarawak in the formation of Malaysia, clearly states, that there is no official religion for the two states,”

Klassen also proposed that the Bible Society of Malaysia (BSM) to send a few copies of the defaced Alkitab to Vatican, the central governing body of the Catholic Church, as well as the United Nations, complete with an official complaint over such a gross travesty and insult on Christian faith.

In addition to this, he also urged all the Barisan Nasional (BN) Christian leaders, the Members of Parliament included, to take a firm stand on the issue and to demand for a sincere and unreserved public apology from the Government, over such an insulting act against Christians in the country.

ILLEGALS TO ASSIST PAKATAN IN THE 13TH GENERAL ELECTIONS?

PARTI Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) President cum Sabah's PKR Interim Chairperson today made a ridiculous statement in the press (Daily Express) by stating that illegals will be issued with Permanent Residence Status when it comes to power in Sabah.Is Wan Azizah ‘fishing’ for votes from the ‘illegals’ in the coming 13th General Elections?

The issuance of fraudulent MyKads in the famous ‘Project M’ was not only immoral, illegal and an act of treason, but also tantamount to selling off our beloved country.The matter reach it's point of no return when the coronation of the ‘Sulu Sultan’ took place on Malaysian soil.

The call for a Royal Commission of Inquiry by Pakatan Rakyat was highly commendable in resolving the illegal issue in Sabah. However, the call by Wan Azizah in granting PR Status to the very ‘Instant Malaysian Bumiputra's’ by fraudulent means, if it comes to power amounts to hoodwinking Sabahans, who once felt that PKR was sincere in it's reforms.

This is more ‘out from the frying pan and back into the fire’. In the name of the state's sovereignty and safe guarding the state's security,how can PKR or for that matter Pakatan Rakyat backtrack their reform agenda and subscribe to ‘legalizing’ the illegals by providing them PR Status?

Is this a sign of desperation by PKR, that it has lost all moral ground to spearhead a legitimate government for the people, by the people and with the people, by resorting to such unethical means? The ‘mother’ of all issues which has plaque the people of Sabah for years is about to escalate if at all PR Status is being issued to these illegal’s.

What was Wan Azizah thinking or what were her State PKR Leaders advising her, does PKR Sabah honestly believe that Sabahans are imbeciles?

No bonafide Malaysian Sabahan will stomach such a stand by PKR or Pakatan Rakyat.Having said that, is DAP or PAS as coalition partners in full agreement with Wan Azizah's stand? DAP and PAS must come clean and explain their position to Sabahans, if they are accepting and agreeing with the statement by the PKR President.With the impending elections looming just around the corner, Pakatan Rakyat maybe history and support would surely be reduced tremendously,and support for a local based party maybe the only avenue out for Sabahans,or perhaps an alliance between a local based party with DAP, PAS with asistance from the Malaysian Civil Liberties Movement( MCLM ) chaired by Raja Petra Kamarudin.

WAN AZIZAH SINGS TO THE TUNES OF PARTY PARASITES.

Parti Keadilan Rakyat's President Dato Seri Wan Azizah blatantly lied in her statement,that the position of "Director of Communication PKR Sabah" doesn't exist,has never existed and Ronnie Klassen was never the Director of Communications of PKR Sabah.Wan Azizah is a BLATANT LIAR of the highest order,and questions are now ask if PKR is truly fighting for the rights of Sabahans.Sabahans have been hoodwink by UMNO/BN for the last 47 years,the people have suffered enough.

In her statement that appeared in all the local media in Sabah,she blatantly stated that,there was no such post.As a responsible Malaysian citizen,I lodged a Police report on the 11th.Feb.2011,against one Datu Akjan Ali Muhammad in his self proclamation as the "Sultan of Sulu" which appeared in a news portal.In the name of protecting the country's sovereignty and safe guarding National Security,I lodged the report alongside Dr.Chong En Leong at the Kota Kinabalu Police Headquarters,Karamunsing at 1.58pm on the 11th.Feb.2011.The report was lodged in our capacity as responsible Malaysians.

Ironically,the PKR President in her statement,stated that the report lodged by me,was not the stand of the party and does not reflect PKR's opinion in the matter.Is Wan Azizah telling Sabahans that PKR fully concurs with Datu Akjan as the self proclaimed Sultan of Sulu,since my report does not reflect the opinion of PKR?Bear in mind,similar reports were also made by SAPP and ironically by UMNO and Barisan Nasional.Has Wan Azizah been away for a long holiday and only just return to Malaysia,and lost total sight of what's happening in Sabah?

For the record,I had received an email from Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim,in June 2009,informing me that he would like to put me up in the state leadership.In mid-July 2009,I was offered the position of Director of Communication for PKR Sabah by Azmin Ali at the advice of Dato'Seri Anwar Ibrahim, during our meeting at Shangrila Tanjung Aru Beach Hotel,Kota Kinabalu.I did not immediately respond to his offer,and needed time to consider.

It was only 2 weeks later that I agreed to accept the post,and the announcement of the state line-up was formalized and was published in all the local media,on the of 3rd.July.2009, My immediate duties was to engage with the younger generation,in the cause of the party and to ignite the tsunami of change.On the 20th.Dec.2009,I organized a Dialogue cum Forum in Kota Kinabalu,where I successfully managed to assemble 150 young professionals,with the hope of getting the young generation to become leaders in PKR,eventually replacing the old and withered leaders.The guest of honour was none other then Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim himself.Why didn't Anwar say that Ronnie Klassen is not the Director of Communications in his speech?

In January 2010,a new state chief,Thamrin Hj.Jaini, took over PKR Sabah,after Azmin Ali was unceremoniously ousted out of the state,as the state leaders wanted a Sabahan to lead.I was retained as the Director Of Communications and had attended all state leaders meeting held at the PKR Headquarters in Penampang.My contribution has been enormous for the party,and I challenge any state leader to say otherwise.To name a few of my contributions and sacrifices,

1. The establishment of a huge network of supporters in the Internet all over Malaysia,Sabah in particular.
2. The establishment of a network of Sabahans residing in Peninsular Malaysia,to assist needy Sabahans.
3. Our joint network between PKR and DAP in assisting jobless and homeless Sabahans in Peninsular Malaysia.
4. My assistance and support together with my team members in all the by-elections.
5. Providing input to the state leaders,and setting up of groups to engaged with the younger generation at grass root level.
6. The setting up and joint effort of common groups overseas,to spread the word of Change.
7. To keep members,supporters and voters abreast on current issues through messages in the Internet,particularly in FaceBook.
8. My blog was used to enhance the image of the party as well to improvise the party through mistakes done.
9. To take UMNO/BN to task on issues affecting Sabahans through my blog,which was my mouth piece to the people.
10. To liaise with the media on all press conferences and press statement.
11. To provide a platform for all party divisions to voice the problems of the people.
12. Encouraging party leaders to engage with the people through FaceBook,in order to have first hand knowledge on the grievance of the people.

In addition,I had to succumb to Police apprehension and countless reports lodged against me by UMNO/BN.In short,I was UMNO/BN's biggest nightmare due to my constant attacks at them.The party hail me as a active and dynamic Director of Communications,performing well above expectations.All these efforts were without party funding,and I had to used my own funding and at times practically begging for financial support from friends.

Meetings after meetings were held in my Communications Bureau to find ways to strengthen the party,and there were many occasions when I was required to travel to Kuala Lumpur for meetings with Party Headquarters Officials,all in the name of the party.No financial assistance was provided for our efforts by the party,we were totally on our own,all in the name of change and for the people,and it was an honour to fight for the people.

Was there a hidden hand who had instigated the President to make such a statement? Even if there was,Wan Azizah as an "intelligent" President of the party, should behave like a President and not stood so low to the demands of greedy leaders,but seek the facts and truth,and not being used by individuals for their own personal agenda.I dare Dato'Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Azmin Ali, Thamrin Hj.Jaini,Datuk Kong Hong Meng,Jonathan Yassin,Ansari Abdullah,Datuk John Ghani,Roland Chia and all the state leaders to publicly deny that there was never such a post of Communications Director,never was,and I was never the Sabah PKR Director of Communications,as blatantly lied by Wan Azizah.

To answer the thousands of emails,smses and FaceBook messages that I've received,pursuant to my stand.I will never abandon the cause of change,even if I were to leave PKR.My cause is for the people,and have no desire for positions unlike some who crave for a position,but do nothing.My loyalty with the party ends when my loyalty for the people begins.I demand a public apology from the President.

DEMONS AND "ANGELS"..PKR STYLE

The hopes and aspirations for change were shattered by political demons, well orchestrated, but beyond comprehension. Then again, was Satan ever honest? The people with the highest level of tolerance from the Land Below The Wind, were once again hypnotized by arrogance of the highest order, by political players across the South China Sea, Semananjung Malaysia. Ironically these remorseless characters had full assistance from hungry prowlers who would lick the toes of anyone, as long as their objectives are met. And these are the very morons, the people are expected to vote come the 13th General Elections. The leadership crisis in Sabah PKR has a lot to do with their egoistical, eccentric, selfish, greedy and arrogant attitude. The leadership in Sabah PKR and its Central Leadership are not getting their act together -- they have never been able to! They are just as arrogant as UMNO or ignorant.

The chapter began in July 2009,when Azmin Ali(currently Deputy President of PKR) was appointed as the "Interim State Chief "of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR)Sabah. Along with him, he brought along loads of money to fund 25 cabang activities for the party. It brought smiles to all the cabang chiefs, as they hail and exalted him like a messiah send by God. In a short span of 3 months, when funds were exhausted, all hell broke loose. From the man that was hailed as a messiah, he was crucified by the Pontius pilots of PKR Sabah and branded as "Orang Malaya".

A revolt was then executed by 18 rebels (cabang chiefs) headed by none other than self proclaimed "Huguan Siou" (Paramount Leader) of PKR Sabah, in the name of Jeffery Kitingan. A high level meeting was convened, with the sole objective of ousting Azmin Ali out and to be replaced by a Sabahan. To cut this boring story short, a Sabahan was subsequently appointed in the name of Thamrin Hj.Jaini, in November 2009. In the 14 months of Thamrin's tenure as the State Chief, he spoke often with a forked tongue, and amazingly with a Chinese slang. Was Kong Hong Ming his mentor & spokesman or the "invisible" state chief?

Now let’s get to the juicy stuff. For all intents and purposes, Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak, sent shock waves to the entire country with speculation of an early election. My sources from Putrajaya have indicated that all leave for Federal officers have been completely frozen for the month of June 2011.With elections in mind, PKR Sabah moved into high gear, ironically not for all the right reasons. Sabah PKR was about to see a new state chief emerging. With Ansari Abdullah and Thamrin Jaini, as the key players for the job, the architects and engineers from both sides began their onslaught. This was winner takes all.

Torpedoes were fired by both camps and it was evident, neither was prepared to lose. Deals beyond comprehension were made, all in the name of "Politics", as pathetic as it was, no one was prepared to give way. Cabang Chiefs were asked to sign letters of support and some did so with conditions. The demons were at work and God was not a name they were familiar with. Again for all intent and purposes, the President decided otherwise and a new face was named as the State Chief of Sabah. His name, Ustaz Pajudin Nordin.

Ustaz Pajudin Nordin will go down in history as the shortest state chief of Sabah PKR,3 weeks to be precise. But let’s take a closer look at what really transpired, so as, not to crucify this innocent. Pajudin was an ordinary kampong man that led a humble life. He was with PKR for 12 years, a party reformist, was an exco member of the party's youth wing and deputy youth chief of the state.

This story is getting very ‘cheong hei’ so let’s cut the crab and get down to the crux of the story. Contrary to what many may perceive, politics is never dirty, it's the dirty politicians who make politics dirty. True as it was, all it took was one know-it-all-mama, Vice-President Fuziah Salleh, along with 5 party stalwarts from Sabah to convince party President in a meeting that took place at the party headquarters in Kuala Lumpur on the 26th .January 2011,to reverse her decision on Pajudin's appointment.

Fuziah Salleh subsequently set sail, boarded an aircraft, bound for Kota Kinabalu to execute a plan to oust Pajudin. In a sms sent by her to a cabang chief - in the event all plans failed 'then I will go back to Semananjung and leave the Sabahan to kill each other". Is this the CHANGE that PKR is talking so much about? Fuziah Salleh should be reprimanded for her unacceptable actions and hauled up for disciplinary action. If a Presidential decision cannot hold water, why have a President or is the President just a mere puppet?

All said and done, Pajudin was informed 2 days before his departure from the party, that he was going to be "terminated" as the state chief. A man's pride was robbed, by overzealous demons craving for power. Their action is unforgivable. These political demons, having no remorse for an innocent man, gladly signed his death warrant and unceremoniously threw him into the arms of waiting wolves, hence ending his political career.

Unlike Zaid Ibrahim and Jeffery Kitingan who left PKR, without a bang, Pajudin left PKR in style. While PKR stripped him naked, though having done no wrong, Sabah Chief Minister, Musa Aman gladly accepted Pajudin into UMNO. Did Pajudin really deserve such treatment and crucifixion from PKR? With Pajudin gone, the party President and a high powered team of "Yang Berhormats" from Kuala Lumpur arrived on the 6th.Feb.2011, with big plans to resolve the problems created within, in short, to lick their own lost pride. They knew what they did was wrong.

Interestingly, the plan was the establishment of a Presidential Council to administer Sabah PKR, headed by the President herself. The plan was to establish a "shadow cabinet" within PKR and appoint 11 leaders as "Ministers". The President pulled a rabbit out of a hat, in the lunar year of the Rabbit and it would be interesting to see how DAP and PAS, the coalition partners in Pakatan Rakyat, flip over this arrangement. In a 45 minutes meeting with the President, I noticed her watery eyes, were saying.."I'm sorry". I actually felt remorse for this wonderful lady. Who then is that "hidden hand" that's calling the shorts?

Unless some miracle or signs are shown from Heaven, to rejuvenate PKR, the new and young generation is convinced that the era of PKR Sabah is fast becoming history. I have pr-empted this scenario and had warned Dato'Seri Anwar Ibrahim on numerous occasions to address the issue tactfully and quickly. UMNO/BN maybe our enemies but our biggest enemy is within. Majority of these politicians in PKR Sabah appear to be only keen in becoming the state chief, while the 13th General Election is of no interest to them. Sad but true. The PKR leadership in Kuala Lumpur must apologize to its Pakatan partners and the people. The greedy Sabahan leaders should pack and GET OUT. It would be interesting to see which UMNO/BN component would accept them. I understand a handful of "big" names in PKR Sabah have actually applied to join UMNO silently but my sources told me, Sabah Chief Minister, Musa Aman has rejected their application. Even UMNO knows rubbish when they see and smell them.

PKR members, supporters and the voters had high hopes for PKR Sabah, time, effort and money were used to shower the call of CHANGE It's the leaders that have failed the people. Sabah PKR had never had a "Halatuju", to steer the party and make its presence relevant. All they have to show is a crisis that has lasted for the past 8 years and it has yet to be resolved.

Pakatan Rakyat (PR) lawmakers have demanded that Datuk Seri Najib Razak respond to Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s latest remarks that Malaysia belongs to the Malays and other races are expected to respect Malay sovereignty.

They want the prime minister to state his stand and views on the matter, and whether he subscribes to Dr Mahathir’s views or feels otherwise.

Opposition leaders said Dr Mahathir’s statement was a direct contradiction to Najib’s 1 Malaysia concept of equality.

“Najib cannot maintain an elegant silence over this, he has to respond to Dr Mahathir’s remarks. It’s important to see what stand Najib will take, and whether or not he is afraid of the repercussions should he not agree with Dr Mahathir,” Datuk Mahfuz Omar told The Malaysian Insider.

The PAS vice-president pointed out that those within Barisan Nasional (BN) who disagreed with the former prime minister ended up having very short lived political careers, saying that Dr Mahathir did not take criticisms lightly.

Citing Dr Mahathir’s attacks against Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi, Mahfuz claimed that the veteran politician had consistently shown that he opposed Najib’s policies such as his 1 Malaysia concept.

“We can definitely see that Dr Mahathir is unhappy with Najib. Najib, on the other hand, has failed in making people understand his 1 Malaysia concept. If Dr Mahathir cannot accept or understand it, how then do normal folk?” said Mahfuz.

He stressed that PR did not recognise or support any views which did not recognise the rights of all races and did not contribute towards the nation-building process.

DAP national publicity secretary Tony Pua called Dr Mahathir’s views “supremacist”, saying there were no provisions in the Federal Constitution which supported Dr Mahahir’s views.

“Najib and Mahathir should perhaps enlighten Malaysians where Mahathir’s supremacist concept is found in the Federal Constitution as designed by our forefathers.

“Najib will also have to explain how his 1 Malaysia fits into Mahathir’s scheme of things,” Pua told The Malaysian Insider.

According to another DAP leader, Lim Kit Siang, Dr Mahathir was “contradicting” himself as his remarks went against not only the 1 Malaysia concept, but also the “Bangsa Malaysia” concept bandied around during the Mahathir administration.

“What he said was full of contradictions... it contradicts his (Dr Mahathir’s) own Bangsa Malaysia concept and 1 Malaysia.

“The aim for Vision 2020 was to create a Malaysia full of people committed to the nation, all races working together on the same platform,” the DAP parliamentary leader told The Malaysian Insider.

In a speech on Tuesday, Dr Mahathir told Malaysians to admit that the country belonged to the Malays and that they had to accept the culture and language of the dominant community.

The former prime minister said that the country’s forefathers gave the Chinese and Indians citizenship because they expected the communities to respect Malay sovereignty.

“This country belongs to the Malay race. Peninsular Malaysia was known as Tanah Melayu but this cannot be said because it will be considered racist.

“We must be sincere and accept that the country is Tanah Melayu,” he said.

He also said the administration must be clear on what is 1 Malaysia.

In a poll conducted by the Merdeka Center last year, only 39 per cent of non-Bumiputeras accepted the 1 Malaysia concept despite the fact that it had been introduced for over a year.

Forty-six per cent out of 3,141 respondents interviewed felt that 1 Malaysia was only a “tactic to win over non-Malay support” while another 16 per cent had either refused to answer the poll questions or claimed to have no understanding of the concept whatsoever.

Respondents were undecided on whether Malaysia had become more united under the Najib administration, with 48 per cent saying “yes” and 43 per cent claiming that the country was still disunited.

Veteran Umno politician and one-time Finance Minister Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah also agreed and said that the 1 Malaysia slogan was “hollow” and had lacked direction and vision and even compared it to Dr Mahathir’s Vision 2020.

When Rulers were bastards and gay

The PKR Sri Muda state assemblyman, Shuhaimi Shafiei, is to be charged for sedition this Monday. At least 20 police reports have been lodged against Shuhaimi because of his blog posting while Perkasa and the pro-Umno people have demanded that he be hanged for inciting war on the Malay rulers.

To understand Malaysia’s Sedition Act you have to go back 1,000 years to the days when they did not want the people to whisper or talk bad about the Rulers. And to do this you have to read a bit of English history. Malaysia’s judicial system and laws are, after all, moulded after the British system and British laws.

Malaysia’s history books start from 1946, the year that Umno was born. Before that Malaysia had no history, or at least a distorted version of history -- like Malay warriors born in China being sent to Malaya’s shores as bodyguards for a Chinese princess who married a Malay Sultan and allegedly defended Malay rights by saying that Malays would never disappear from the face of the earth (a debate currently raging in Malaysia’s blogosphere).

Anyway, English history starts from 1066, and not 1946, at least when I read English history in the Alice Smith School in standard one. Before 1066 it does not count because Britain did not officially exist yet. What existed were Argyle and the Highlands where the Scottish barbarians lived, and Sussex where the West Saxons lived, and Northumbria and Cumbria and York and Carlisle and so on, where the Norsemen or Vikings lived.

Britain, at best, was a collection of many barbarian tribes and not yet a nation as such. It was not until 1066 that Britain became a nation and the many regions became united under one King. 1066, therefore, was significant to English history in that England finally saw order -- or more like organised chaos if you can regard rape, pillaging and plundering as order.

1066 was the year that William sailed to England with his great army. Contrary to what many believe, William, who conquered England and became known as William the Conqueror, was not even a King. He was the Duke of Normandy, a region that was a vassal of the King of France. And before he became known as William the Conqueror in 1066, he was known as William the Bastard.

Yes, that’s right, William was a bastard son of the Duke of Normandy. But how can they allow the Saxons he displaced from the throne in London (Lundene on the Temes river) spread the rumour that he is not of royal blood but of low birth -- and a bastard on top of that. So they passed a law that made it a crime to speak bad about the King -- and William the Bastard became William the Conqueror from thereon and no one dared correct this historical fact lest they get charged for sedition and lose their head in the process.

All through English history many bastard children succeeded the throne of England. There was also the added problem of many of the Kings and Princesses being gay, or at least bisexual. In fact, one King of England was even having a gay relationship with the King of France (any wonder they were expert sword fighters?). And though the Kings never visited their Queen’s bedchamber (they never slept in the same room and always slept in separate rooms) since their honeymoon, the Queen still managed to get pregnant and it was suspected that it was the Queen’s young, handsome advisers who were the real fathers of those children.

We must understand that marriage in those days was not for sex or out of love. It was to seal political alliances. If you married the sister or daughter of the King of another country then that country would not attack your country because you were now related -- either brother-in-law or son-in-law. So, after marrying your Queen, you locked her away and spent your time chasing other women -- or other men as the case may be.

The most notable 'bastard' Ruler of England was probably Elizabeth I, the daughter of Henry VIII from his second wife, Anne Boleyn. The church did not recognise Elizabeth because divorce was not allowed so Henry broke away from the church and formed his own church to legitimise his divorce from the Queen and his marriage to Anne (but Rome still regarded her as a bastard).

Because of this they wanted Mary, Henry’s granddaughter, to inherit the throne. But since she was Catholic (and French), and Catholics were put to death if they confessed to being Catholics, Elizabeth got the throne instead. Mary was later executed for her crime against God -- for being a Catholic. Mary was of course known as Mary Queen of Scots but it was the Scots who betrayed her and handed her to Elizabeth to be jailed for many years before she was executed. (The Scots have been betraying their Rulers since time immemorial).

Against this backdrop (and much more I have not mentioned) how can they allow people to talk? Kings, Queens and members of the Royal Family were bonking away and breeding like rabbits outside of marriage. Many preferred sex partners of their own gender or many partners at the same time in orgies where the gender of the sex partners were of little concern as long as they were bonkable.

To solve the succession problem, rightful heirs to the throne mysteriously died in their sleep so that those not eligible to succeed the throne could then take the throne. Courtiers got ahead and received titles, position and land at the pleasure of the King. And the King’s pleasure would be guaranteed if your wife got sent to the King’s bedchamber for the night where she would whisper in the King’s ear in between bonking sessions: what happened to my husband’s request…etc, etc.

With all this going on how could they allow the people to talk? And with 1,000 servants and courtiers hanging around the palace how does one prevent people from talking? So they had this thing called sedition laws so that anyone who talked could be punished.

And on 1st January 2010, Britain abolished the Sedition Act -- not because people no longer talked about their Monarchy or that the Monarchs of today are better behaved, but because with the Internet you can no longer catch those who talk anyway.

But Malaysia still has the Sedition Act, an old British law, and those who talk about the Monarchs (or even about the Deputy Prime Minister’s wife) will still be punished -- like they did in England 1,000 years go. And, this Monday, PKR Sri Muda state assemblyman, Shuhaimi Shafiei, is to be charged for sedition for allegedly insulting the Sultan of Selangor.

How we have progressed since the days of William the Bastard a.k.a. William the Conqueror of 1066.

IS UMNO/BN IN DENIAL SYNDROME?

PARTI Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) today question the arrogant motives behind the allocation increase to all Barisan National assemblyman only by Musa Aman at the budget sitting, lambasted Ronnie Klassen, Sabah's PKR Director of Communication.

“Who gave Musa Aman the authority to dictate as to how and who should be given this allocation increase, amounting to RM62.7 million? Why only to the 56 UMNO/BN Assemblyman, a partyless assemblyman, but completely and blatantly neglecting Likas, Luyang and Seri Tanjong? Are these three Opposition constituency occupied by ‘Aliens’ and not Sabahans?”

“The tax paying and registered voters in Sabah have the absolute right to demand an explanation from the UMNO/BN Government of Sabah.Were the election promises made by UMNO/BN Sabah during the 12th General Elections as well as the recent Batu Sapi by-election mere smokescreens,that only UMNO/BN is able to bring development to the people?”

PKR views this segregation and total neglect of public funds being channel to the opposition constituency as an insult to the tax payers in Sabah, particularly the constituency of Likas, Luyang and Seri Tanjong. Public funds belong to the people, as such equal distribution must be adhered.

This announcement of allocation increase, is more of an election carrot to strengthen the positions of the existing UMNO/BN Assemblyman, since Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak had indicated that a Snap Election is nearing.

“The under current signs are strong and the election tremor is now further ascertain with huge funds being channel to the 57 state constituency in Sabah,“ added Ronnie as he wish to remind Musa Aman and his fellow UMNO/BN comrades,that public funds belong to the people of Sabah and not UMNO/BN.

On another note, PKR also questions the State Government's blatant ignorance when it categorically denied the World Bank's declaration that Sabah is currently today the poorest state in Malaysia.

“Is the State Government saying that the World Bank's report is a LIE? How can a state rich in natural resources, be categorize as the poorest state? This can only be possible, when funds derived from our resources are being mis-used or mis-managed,” fumed Ronnie.

Ronnie also demanded to know for public interest, where and what has happen to the hundreds of millions derived from the 15% state government tax on the 4D revenue over the last 10 years. Can the UMNO/BN Government of Sabah kindly provide an account for public viewing, as to how and where the money was used?

“Surely if these funds were intelligently used to eradicate poverty,Sabah would not be declared the poorest state in Malaysia,” challenge Ronnie.

When ask about the current turmoil in PKR, Ronnie who is the Director of Communications for PKR Sabah, said,”I won't really describe the problems as turmoil, it's a self proclaimed problem by individuals who have created an injunction upon themselves. While I won't deny that there are bonafide complains lodged by members over the party elections, the elections committee must act without fear or favour and immediately. I have seen and heard enough, that is why I will submit a proposal to the Supreme Council that the future party elections must be reformed.”

According to Ronnie, In his proposal, the following changes must be seriously considered if PKR intend to see an equal representation in a nationalized party. Currently all positions in the party is a ‘free for all’ vote among members throughout the country.

“From the voting pattern, I've realized that Sabahans and Sarawakians are loosing out, as compared to our West Malaysian counter parts. In order for a greater and equal representation, the leadership should study my proposal seriously;

1. President......................open to contest (1 Post)

2.Deputy President.........open to contest (1 Post)

3.Vice-President ...............2 candidates from West Malaysia,1 from Sabah and 1 from Sarawak.(4 Post)

4.MPP members ..............10 from West Malaysia, 5 from Sabah and 5 from Sarawak.(20 Post)

(all members will vote for their respective candidates in West Malaysia,in Sabah and Sarawak respectively)

The current voting pattern clearly indicates that Sabahans and Sarwakians will never be well represented in the Supreme Council, if changes are not made. In addition, all cabang (divisons) and national elections should be conducted simultaneously.

“This would ensure that members would come out and vote once, rather then the current method, where members are required to vote twice which has taxed the members,” said Ronnie.

“In my recent visit to Parliament, I'm glad that quite a number of PKR's MP's that I met have indicated their agreement and support to my proposal. This is certainly a step closer to realizing a more balance national representation in PKR.We profess reforms and changes, we must also be seen as reforming and changing,” added Ronnie.

UMNO/BN's Shenanigans Outdated..Batu Sapi Has Awaken

Today,I have join the ranks of many before me,in getting closer with my maker.I have just turn 50 years of age,wiser and more vocal.But my birthday blog will not be overly"cheong hei" as before,but it is my wish that Sabahans have chosen CHANGE by standing firm for the future of this wonderful place call...SABAH.

While some still mourned the unexpected death of Batu Sapi Member of Parliament, Edmond Chong,many have way pass his untimely death.In fact his wife Linda Tsen,has spend the last 7 days campaigning in the on-going Batu Sapi by election,all in the name of ensuring UMNO/BN keeping the seat.While many feel that Linda Tsen should still be in mourning,UMNO/BN,particularly Chief Minister Musa Aman and Pairin Kitingan thinks otherwise,as this being their only weapon left available to capture the seat....sympathy votes..!!

Pairin Kitingan must still be living in the stone age of 1985,when sympathy votes became the basis of his party's victory.If fact,I still remember those days,the saying was that even a monkey would have won,and all it needed to do was to wave the Parti Bersatu Sabah(PBS) flag,and victory was his.

Ironically,after 25 years,UMNO/BN still believes the same old "song"still works.If at all Musa Aman and Pairin Kitingan still thinks that Sabahans are the same easily hoodwink people they knew 25 years ago,then they are miserably wrong as the 12th General Elections have awaken the sleeping Sabahans.
The one thing we can all agree here is that Batu Sapi will be the benchmark for whatever will be the turning point for both sides of the divide.UMNO/BN's continued existence, Pakatan Rakyat's entry as the "government-in-waiting"will be decided on the 4th.November when Sabahans go to the polls to decide who they prefer to represent them in Parliament.Then there are also strong signals for a Snap elections,which Prime Minister,Najib Razak has boldly mention at the UMNO's Congress recently.If this is of any indication of an imminent snap elections around the corner,the new MP of Batu Sapi may not see the light of being sworn in,due to the snap election and Parliament doesn't sit that soon for him/her to be sworn in.

UMNO/BN's PROMISES MERE TALK.

Batu Sapi will still remember the false promises of UMNO/BN since the day Batu Sapi became a Parliamentary Constituency in 2004.The late Edmond Chong became the first MP,uncontested and retain the seat in the 12th General elections against an Independent,who has just only recently join PBS.

In the headlines of a local daily(Daily Express) today,Musa Aman blatantly lied through his teeth once again with his statement "Many plans in store for Batu Sapi".My question is,What happen to the previous plans and promises which has yet to be fulfilled?The people of Batu Sapi deserves the absolute right to know and demand,where is the previous promises made to them?In the words of Abraham Lincoln,"you can fool the people some of the time,but you cannot fool the people all the time".

But what interest me the most in this by-election was the challenge after challenge for a Debate hurl at each other by the contesting candidates from Parti Keadilan Rakyat(PKR) and Sabah Progressive Party(SAPP).While the challenges were mere smokescreens for some,PKR 's candidate,Ansari Abdullah was the most sincere when he invited SAPP's Yong Teck Lee and Barisan Nasional's Linda Tsen to an OPEN DEBATE for the benefit of the people to gauge who should rightfully represent them in Parliament.As expected neither excepted the challenge and chickened out.

Yong Teck Lee or better known as"taiko",a name bestowed upon him by the local media,for whatever reasons, may take a rocket scientist to scientifically figure this out,chicken out in the debate when he describe it as "Ansari is not within his league".His arrogant remark in describing Ansari as a "parachute candidate",and that he will only debate with Anwar Ibrahim,since he is the President of his party and Anwar is the Ketua Umum,we are at "par".

Ironically he felt it proper to engage this debate by also inviting Musa Aman.Shouldn't Yong be inviting the Prime Minister,Najib Razak since he is the Chairman of Barisan Nasional,and not Musa Aman?Why did Yong conveniently ignore this fact by inviting Najib,is mind-boggling?After all,it was Najib early this year that said "I will decide what is best for Sabah".For the record, Yong Teck Lee's arrogance in describing Ansari as a parachute candidate is an insult,he forgot to mentioned that even he is a parachute candidate.

UMNO/BN's candidate,Linda Tsen is of course a pawn of convenience.Her job is to keep silent as far as possible and UMNO/BN will do all the campaigning.Her command in Bahasa Malaysia,which is a prerequisite language use in Parliament,is highly questionable.It's safe to even say that a Primary 6 student speaks better Bahasa then her,which is an insult to the intelligence of Batu Sapi.

If Edmond Chong was unable to raise the standard of living and perform for Batu Sapi for 2 terms as the MP,how can Linda do better? The political landscape in Malaysia has change ever since the 12th General election and if change has really happen in Sabah,then the people of Batu Sapi is not about to send a deaf,dumb and blind person to Parliament.

Enemy Within....Where is Jeffery Kitingan,Christina Liew and their Lieutenants?

As Pakatan Rakyat leaders led by Anwar Ibrahim work their guts out in Batu Sapi to campaign for PKR's candidate Ansari Abdullah in the by-election, disgusted party members are beginning to question the motives of outgoing PKR Vice President Jeffrey Kitingan and his close aid Christina Liew.

Both are believed to be not interested in Batu Sapi. In fact, it is no secret that Jeffery,Christina and their Lieutenants are busy campaigning for Zaid Ibrahim in the PKR Deputy Presidency.Where is their loyalty,sincerity and commitment in the party,when a fellow comrade is the candidate for the Batu Sapi by-election?I question their intentions,as this is unacceptable.

I will even go one step higher and demand that the party haul them up for disciplinary action for sabotage and insubordination.It was claimed by one of Jeffery's aid's,Alex Kiob that Jeffery was not welcome in Batu Sapi.I'm baffled by this claim,PKR belongs to members,since when it became the property of an individual?The word is that,two Kitingans cannot be at the same place campaigning,worst off on opposite sides.

Why aren’t they showing solidarity with Anwar, Lim Kit Siang and Mahfuz Omar. These guys are all working round the clock to bring reform to Sabahans, but Jeffery and Christina only seem to be interested in their own party positions. That's why they are drawing flak from other party members because they don't seem to be interested in Pakatan or PKR at all, but only in themselves.

Anwar now has to acknowledge the truth in what a lot of Sabah members have been telling him – Jeffrey hasn’t done a thing for PKR. To continue to rely on him,Christina and most of their lieutenants, is for PKR to commit suicide in Sabah.I guess Winston Churchill was right when he said"Politics is more dangerous then war,for in war you are only killed once".

In fact, just on the grounds of selfishness and putting personal interest above party and coalition, many members feel both Jeffery and Christina should already be axed. This is serious. We are talking about war in the 13th GE and we only want those who will fight with PKR and Pakatan through thick and thin, and not for themselves.

There are many KDM leaders in Sabah,one only need to open their eyes.The young and new generation has already emerged,a fact that worries Jeffery to his bones.I recall Christina arrogantly mentioning in the recent cabang election,"we should not support Orang Malaya".I wonder where does Zaid comes from,surely not from Sabah?Having said that,Christina was not even BORN in Malaysia,let alone Sabah.Christina was born in Indonesia and only holds a Permanent Residency(PR),yet she insults us by telling Malaysians not to support another Malaysian.

PKR's ON-GOING PARTY ELECTION.

It's a fight to the end,and anything goes in the on-going party elections.From what was endeavour and hoped to be a "friendly"party elections,it has now gone down to "anything goes".While there is no contest in the President's post,the Deputy President's post is getting uglier by the day.The 2 aspirants,Azmin Ali and Zaid Ibrahim are not too far apart in the votes so far,judging from the 68 cabangs(divisions)that have already completed their election process.

The one thing that is rather obvious now is,the guessing game as to who will win Azmin or Zaid doesn't arise anymore.That decision now lies in the hands of the 400,000 members throughout the country,who will vote in the next 3 weekends.In Sabah,both Jeffery Kitingan and Christina Liew have been "baptised" to campaign for Zaid Ibrahim,while Azmin has most of the cabangs supporting him.From the grapevine...huge sums of "money" is being poured in to ensure Zaid's victory.

But lets examine and take a closer look at Azmin and Zaid,do we need a magnifying glass to examine them?Azmin has been with the party since it's inception and has gone through the"mills".A die hard party man,who has sacrifice himself for the party,members and the rakyat.As a person,some may equate him as a total "asshole",but we're not here to distinguish him as a capable leader or an asshole.The root of the matter is,the party needs a person of his calibre,you can't satisfy everyone anyway.Azmin has proven himself beyond reasonable doubt over the years,and he well deserves to be elected as the Deputy President.

Zaid Ibrahim on the other hand,does possess charisma,but we're not looking for charisma.If it's charisma we're looking for many would qualify,me included.But we're not talking about me.The party must be steered in it's right direction in facing the 13th General election,and Zaid Ibrahim is not the man for the job.I'm sure many would take this opportunity to "whack" me for saying this,particularly die hard fans of Zaid,but the reality is before us,PKR must have a LEADER,and Zaid doesn't impress me,perhaps in 3 years from now,I may defer in my opinion,depending again how Azmin performs.

Okay,I've said enough,I did promise not to be "cheong hei".My parting birthday wish,I urge the people of Batu Sapi to come out in full force and vote for PKR.A vote for PKR is a vote for the future generation.For members of PKR who are still uncertain as to who to vote for the Deputy President,allow me to assist you..vote Azmin Ali.

UMNO/BN's Rakyat Diutamakan Down The Drain

If anyone still believes that the political tsunami that hit the shores of Malaysia which change the political landscape was a bad omen,it surely doesn't appear so.The popular votes went to Pakatan Rakyat,a coalition of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR),DAP and PAS.Parti Keadilan Rakyat's (PKR) candidate for Batu Sapi,Hj.Ansari Abdullah was today "baptized" after the jetty he was walking on while on his campaign trail collapse,resulting in him and two other aids plunging into the sea at the Sandakan jetty to Pulau Api Api.

If this baptism is of any indication of good things to come,then the people of Batu Sapi will long remember the injury and pain he had to endure for the sake of the people.Fortunately Ansari escape serious injury and was up again in his campaign which took him to Pulau Api Api.When ask if he was alright,Ansari said...What would have happen if it was a pregnant woman or children and not me?I dread to imagine the circumstances had that happen and went on to question and cautioned the UMNO/BN assemblyman for Sekong,Samsuddin Yahya and urged Samsudin Yahya to direct the respective state agencies to examine all the other jetties on the islands in the constituency to ensure public safety and comfort.

I guess the question that Ansari should be asking is,"Where was the allocation to repair the jetty in the first place"?It was reliably learnt that the rakyat had complained to the assemblyman countless times,yet nothing has been done.My question is,must someone perish before action is taken?Where is all this big talk of UMNO/BN about "Rakyat Diutamakan".It should read as "Rakyat Diketepikan"?

How can this happen to Sandakan,when the Chief Minister of Sabah,Deputy Chief Minister and Deputy Federal Minister are all from Sandakan? Musa Aman,Peter Pang and V.K.Liew must come out clean and explain this disaster to the people of Batu Sapi.UMNO/BN is so fond of telling the people that only UMNO/BN can bring development to the people,bring about tragedy is more likely.The empty promises will be remembered by Batu Sapi,all talk and no action.

Sandakan is also home to the largest "orang utan"sanctuary in the world,and a heaven for tourist.UMNO/BN has failed Batu Sapi,and the people of Batu Sapi will punish UMNO/BN and show them the exit door.

To add salt to injury,I had the opportunity to speak to a lady who had just exited from a Chinese temple,and had this to say about the UMNO/BN candidate,Linda Tsen,"this woman is still in mourning,her husband just passed away,she has no respect for her late husband"."This Pairin and Musa must be desperate to win".

The stage is set and the dust has settled,for the first by-election or "buy-election" in Batu Sapi,Sandakan,Sabah.As expected it will be a three corner fight,Hj.Ansari Abdullah of Parti Keadilan Rakyat(PKR) Pakatan Rakyat,Linda Tsen of Parti Bersatu Sabah(PBS) Barisan Nasional and Yong Teck Lee of Sabah Action Progressive Parti(SAPP).Will the late Edmond Chong leave behind a legacy to the people of Batu Sapi,we shall know on the 4th.November.2010.

With his wife Linda Tsen as the candidate for Barisan Nasional,PBS is once again rekindling back the sympathetic "minta-kasihan"support they once enjoyed during their era in 1985,only to be remembered as demonic to the might of Parti Berjaya.With society having shaken off their ignorance and fully politically matured,a disaster is imminently forthcoming.The walkout by PBS Muslim members that took place at their operation centre is testimony that all is not well in Barisan Nasional.The 500 disgruntled PBS Muslim members that stormed in the centre,shook the day lights of Musa Aman,Pairin Kitingan and other assemblyman.Deputy Prime Minister,Muhyiddin Yassin tried hard to hide his dissatisfaction upon hearing on what had happen,only to say at the end of it all,BN's victory is vital.

On the eve of nomination,while taking a break over tea with some journalist,UPKO's Supreme Council Member,James Ligunjang join me and had this to tell me,"BN has no chance in Batu Sapi".Across my table then came along Sebatik's former assemblyman from UMNO and greeted me.His parting words on the chances of BN "not so good".As ironic as it may sound,it came as no surprise to me.UMNO/BN is well aware that they have lost Batu Sapi.

The faction group of Shafie Apdal and Musa Aman fiasco and a third force within UMNO has emerged once again,this time with renewed energy and destined to exit Musa Aman for good,may result in one of the dirtiest ousting of a Chief Minister.For Musa Aman,this could well be "sai-lang" for him,as his position is now being further treathen by party stalwarts.As the Director Of Elections for UMNO/BN,a lost could well be his exit,something that most UMNO leaders and members will surely be celebrating.

With all the on-going grouses in UMNO/BN,the one thing we can agree here is that UMNO/BN is about to self destruct and Batu Sapi will well be their downfall.Nonetheless the gates of the nomination centre was open today,filled with colour,shouts of reformasi,Sabah Sabah and BN tetap menang(sure win) was heard from afar.Parti Keadilan Rakyat's(PKR) grand entrance started with their 1 km walk from their operation centre to the Dewan Masyarakat Sandakan(Community Hall),as early as 8.30am,and led by the party's candidate Hj.Ansari Abdullah,Party President Datin Seri Wan Azizah,National and State Leaders,and more than 1,000 highly charged members and supporters.

With PKR and Barisan Nasional,having the most number of members and supporters present at the nomination centre,SAPP on the other hand had the smallest entourage.But what was most noticeable,was the presence of UMNO/BN and SAPP members and supporters finding the tent of PKR more conducive.If this is by anyway an early indication on PKR's march to Putrajaya,then their presence in seeking refuge in PKR'S tent maybe a good omen.My congratulations though to the Police and the Election Commission in handling the nomination well.

Nevertheless,25,582 registered voters in Batu Sapi of which 59.02% comprises of Muslim Bumiputra,38.06% Chinese,2.69% Non -Muslim Bumiputra and 0.22% others,will decide their faith and who they prefer to send to Parliament.Generally this is a predominately Muslim constituency,and PKR's Ansari Abdullah may hold a better edge over the rest.Sandakan is desperately in need of a vocal and gallant Parliamentarian to voice the voices of Batu Sapi.

For two terms under UMNO/BN,the people of Batu Sapi had to endure sufferings unbecoming of a "so-called" urban developing town.What irks them the most is,the Chief Minister of Sabah,Musa Aman,the Deputy Chief Minister Peter Pang and a Deputy Federal Minister V.K.Liew are either Assemblyman or Member of Parliament in Sandakan,yet Sandakan is plaque with severe utility and economic problems,hence resulting in many leaving to seek greener
pastures elsewhere.

Batu Sapi cannot and should not send a deaf,dumb and blind person to Parliament.The endless promises of UMNO/BN is still being promised,yet no improvement in the people's plight and problems has been addressed and dealt with.SAPP on the other hand has two Member of Parliament,yet their voices are nowhere to be heard,and an additional one is not going to make any difference.Being an "Opposition of an Opposition" has no lo ca standi,worst off the Sabah for Sabahan is slowly but surely evaporating.The young and new generation are not at all interested in "kampong politics",they are more far sighted and understand the overall Malaysian agenda.Politicians or "pollute-ticians sometimes say the darn est things,and old school politics is surely unacceptable

With 9 days of campaigning commencing today,the sleepy and hollow town of Batu Sapi will awake at least until a new and vibrant Member of Parliament emergence on the 4th.November.The people of Batu Sapi must vote wisely,for the future of Batu Sapi depends very much who they vote come polling day.Batu Sapi must not live to dread the day when their grand children question them,on why when they had the chance to make a CHANGE,they chose not to.

Having said that,Batu Sapi may trigger a snap elections,and Najib may well take this opportunity to gauge his strength or before his Deputy does a coup to oust him.

In a speech that is bound to raise the already high political-temperature in the country and drive investors further away, Prime Minister Najib Razak used violent language in his opening address to his Umno party, vowing to defend their five-decade stranglehold on the federal government even if it meant crushed bodies and lost lives.

“This is the most shocking and irresponsible statement to come from a PM although many of us in the opposition have been warning of a major showdown. But it also brings to the fore the fact that Najib is not as confident as he pretends to be. In fact, he is desperate because the chances are very high that Umno-BN will lose,” PAS central committee member Nizar Jamaluddin told Malaysia Chronicle.

At the 61st Umno annual assembly, Najib – who is the party president – was cheered by members as he led them through reverberating shouts of Hidup Umno (the Malay equivalent of Long Live Umno) three times. Umno pundits had actually been expecting a slightly cooler reaction with many members waiting to grill Najib for his 1Malaysia plan, tepid performance and recent flip-flops on a series of political and economic issues.

“Even if our bodies are crushed and our lives lost, brothers and sisters, whatever happens, we must defend Putrajaya,” Malaysiakin reported Najib as saying. Putrajaya is Malaysia's administrative capital.

Racial cleansing

In his hour-long speech, Najib even warned of the possibility of 'racial cleansing' such as in Rwanda and Bosnia if unnamed parties continued to challenge and debate the preferential status now enjoyed by the Malays.

Nurul - Umno likely to hound her

Some of the Pakatan Rakyat leaders who recently and openly debunked Umno's claim of special rights include PKR's Nurul Izzah Anwar, who created a mini-tsunami in the country with her Malaysia or Malaysaja series of articles. She has challenged Najib, former premier Mahathir Mohamad and ultra-Malay rights group Perkasa chief Ibrahim Ali to public debates, which all three men have shunned.

Malaysia's federal constitution does not state that Malays have special rights or rights that are above the other ethnic groups. However, there are clear provisions that the Malay community is entitled to special positions in the economic and educational sectors.

Nonetheless, this is not the way Najib sees it or is willing to acknowledge it to be.

“What I am saying is not surprising. In the 20th century, we have seen cases of punishment without trial in the United States, the holocaust tragedy in Europe, the slaughter of Palestinians in the Middle East and the ethnic cleansing in Bosnia and Rwanda. Imagine, what is the outcome, if every generation of Malaysians question the social contract which were agreed upon by their forefathers,” said Najib.

Pakatan calls for calm

Meanwhile, Pakatan leaders have called on Malaysians to stay calm and ignore Najib's invective. They slammed him for the "grossest" hypocrisy, pointing to his maiden speech to United Nations last month where he called for moderation and even offered Malaysia's help in creating a movement of moderates over extremists

"Shame on Najib for trying to frighten the people. This is the worst type of scare-mongering and bullying. If the people are still not convinced by now that he and his Umno-BN must go, then this speech will convince them," PAS leader Dr Hatta Ramli told Malaysia Chronicle.

"If Malaysians decide to change for the better, no one can stop the landslide, so stop the drama. Najib only shows his fear and hysteria of impending rejection by the people. He has degenerated so far down the line that he is even bragging to Umno that he is willing to use force to thwart the wishes of the rakyat (citizenry). And the sad thing is, Umno members are themselves deceived by this racial emotionalism."

Malaysia's 28 million population is expected to go to the polls again in early 2011. At the 2008 general election, the people gave Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim and his Pakatan coalition control of 5 out of 13 states. Significantly, they also withdrew Umno-BN's long-held two-thirds parliamentary majority. This majority has been blamed for the rampant corruption and abuse of power by the ruling elite as it gave them the power to ram through whatever laws they wished.

Malays form about half the country's population, indigenous people about 10 percent, Chinese 28, Indians about 10 percent and rest by unlisted ethnic groups.

Pre-empting criticism from Umno members

Political support amongst the Malays is split between Umno, PAS and PKR. Chinese have abandoned BN's MCA and Gerakan in droves and are expected to vote for the Pakatan in the next election. Indians and the Bumi are harder to read as both have traditionally been BN loyalists, although the Indians switched over to the Pakatan in 2008.

Members were expected to grill Najib and his 1Malaysia

Despite rosy popularity surveys by pro-government bodies, there is also a growing number of pundits who believe that Najib may dissolve Parliament next year, but not the BN-controlled state governments so that he will not lose all should the people decide to go for change.

Some also believe Najib was trying to deflect Umno's attention from his weak performance and leadership by swinging sharply to the right and trying to out race-champion his deputy Muhyiddin Yassin, who is also the Deputy Prime Minister.

"Dissolving just the Parliament is one theory that is making the rounds. But it is hard to tell. The facts are Najib is a political coward. He may even decide not to call for a GE next year. What he is trying to do now is to rally support for himself from Umno members and GE is always an effective way," Batu MP Tian Chua told Malaysia Chronicle.

"Umno members will get so hyped up by his speech, they may forget to blast him for his non-performance and flip-flops. He has been in power for nearly two years but has achieved nothing other than spending millions on expensive public relations and wasteful mega-projects. But whatever his strategy, he will not be able to fend off a challenge from Muhyiddin in the Umno election next year."

SABAH'S PKR Director of Communications, Ronnie Klassen today demanded the Chief Minister of Sabah, Datuk Musa Aman to come clean and explain the purported plans that a CASINO is on the cards in Prime Minister's Najib Tun Razak ‘Economic Transformation Plans (ETP)’.

Musa Aman must explain to Malaysians in Sabah "Has the State Government of Sabah given the ‘Approval’ for the go-ahead of a CASINO? If Musa Aman has given the nod for this Casino, when and why was it APPROVED?"

During the ETP open day yesterday, the Performance Management and Delivery Unit (Pemandu) revealed that the government was considering building a 500-acre ‘eco-nature’ resort in Sabah, as part of a concerted effort to push Malaysia onto the integrated resort (IR) bandwagon and that the option to build a casino is on the table for the Karambunai IR, alongside a mangrove centre, water theme park and waterfront properties to ensure a higher return on investment (ROI).

“We want the Musa Aman Administration to come out clean and explain whether they have given any approval or are contemplating building a casino in Sabah. Even though there has been no official admission from the Barisan Nasional (BN) government, the facts allude to the strong case where a casino will be built, under the guise of ensuring a higher ROI. All points lead to the fact that a casino will be established. Can our honorable Chief Minister Datuk Musa Aman confirm or deny this"?

Klassen further stressed that the proposal to build a casino showed how the present government administration is intent on ‘popularizing gambling’ in the country, barely months after the huge outcry over Tan Sri Vincent Tan’s abortive attempt to introduce football betting.

Local council state laws in Sabah,requires a company to apply for a "trading license" to do any form of business,and trading licenses are issued by the respective District Councils,Municipal Councils or City Hall.The Federal Treasury through the approval from the Federal Cabinet may Approve such a CASINO license, but without the issuance of a trading licence, such a CASINO will not be able to operate even with the approval from the Prime Minister himself,.stress Ronnie.

If the Federal Cabinet had tabled and Approved for a CASINO in Sabah, that would imply that the Minister's from Sabah namely, Tan Sri Bernard Dompok, Datuk Maximus Ongkili, Datuk Shafie Apdal and Datuk Anifah Aman had given their consent.

Did these ‘honourable’ Minister's take into account the social and moral implications, that would affect Sabahans or where they blinded by greed?

“We demand a full explanation from Musa Aman,where is the transparency,credibility and accountability which the UMNO/BN Government of Sabah being boasting all these while"?

The Pakatan Rakyat Government would never agree to a project that has social ills and worst off bankrupt the people. We will not allow, Ah Longs, illegal money lenders or bonafide banks a field day to destroy family's through gambling.

I stumbled upon this special interview with Syed Husin Ali,the outgoing Deputy President of Parti Keadilan Rakyat by Merdeka Review.It is my honest opinion that Syed Husin Ali has now join the ranks of a true and blessed STATESMAN.

Dalam politik, musuh kepada musuh adalah kawan. Semua puak dan sekta akan disatu-padukan sebaik mungkin untuk menentang musuh yang utama. Pendekatan sedemikian menjadi salah satu pilihan kepada politik berhaluan kiri, yang sering dilabel sebagai fahaman anti-agama dalam politik tanahair.

Jika diimbas zaman pasca penjajahan Jepun, konsep "kerjasama" ini terjelma dalam bentuk draft Perlembagaan Rakyat, yang dikemukakan oleh gabungan Putera-AMCJA. Kemudian, usaha disusuli dengan cubaan untuk menggabungkan pengikut tiga orang tokoh Ahmad Boestaman (dari Parti Rakyat), Burhanuddin Helmi (dari PAS) dan Ishak Haji Muhammad (Pak Sako, dari Parti Buruh Malaya).

Bagaimanapun ia berakhir dengan ketidakhadiran PAS, apabila Parti Rakyat dan Parti Buruh membentuk Barisan Sosialis (Socialist Front, SF) pada tahun 1958. Kuku besi regim Perikatan (dan Barisan Nasional kemudiannya) terus mencengkam perluasan pengaruh sosialis - untuk beberapa dekad perjuangan sosialis disamakan dengan pengorbanan, seolah-olah perjuangan yang tidak menemui kemenangan...

Apa kata jikalau gerakan Reformasi tidak tercetus pada tahun 1998? "Tidak tahulah..." jawab Syed Husin Ali (gambar kanan), bekas Presiden Parti Rakyat Malaysia (PRM) yang mengambil keputusan penting pada zaman yang bergelora itu.

Sesungguhnya, tiada "jikalau" dalam sejarah. Tiada sesiapa yang dapat menjangkakan apa yang bakal berlaku "jikalau" sejarah berlaku sebegini dan bukan sebegitu pada detik saat tertentu. Dalam satu wawancara bersama MerdekaReview, Syed Husin Ali mengimbas faktor yang mencantumkan PRM dengan Parti KeADILan Nasional; dan berkongsi penilaian dan pandangannya terhadap Parti Keadilan Rakyat (KEADILAN), sebelum beliau berundur dari jawatan Timbalan Presiden yang disandang sejak tahun 2003.

Anwar nyatakan hasrat dalam surat

Dalam negara seperti Malaysia, ruang demokrasi kadang-kala hanya berkembang di celah-celah retakan parti pemerintah. Pembangkang melalui zaman paling sukar untuknya setelah berlakunya tragedi 13 Mei 1969. Bukan sahaja Barisan Sosialis berpecah dan terbubar, malah PAS menyertai Barisan Nasional pada awal tahun 1970-an.

Harapan pembangkang akhirnya muncul dari celah retakan UMNO pada tahun 1987. Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah pada ketika itu keluar dari UMNO, dan menubuhkan parti Semangat 46, yang seterusnya menjuruskan pembentukan Gagasan Rakyat, satu perikatan politik yang turut melibatkan PRM.

Belum genap 10 tahun kemudian, sejarah yang agak mirip dengan babak ini berulang. Anwar Ibrahim (gambar kiri) dipecat dari UMNO Baru. Parti KeADILan Nasional ditubuhkan, menjurus kepada pembentukan Barisan Alternatif (BA). Bagaimanapun, seperti tahun 1990, UMNO-BN berjaya mempertahankan majoriti dua pertiga dalam parlimen pada PRU ke-10 tahun 1999, tetapi...

Sesuatu yang luar biasa berlaku. BA biarpun tidak terelak daripada nasib keretakan, tetapi menyaksikan percantuman antara Parti KeADILan Nasional dengan PRM untuk membentuk Parti Keadilan Rakyat pada 3 Ogos 2003.

Siapakah sebenarnya yang mula-mula mengutarakan cadangan ini? Soalan yang menjangkakan hanya dua kemungkinan jawapannya, iaitu Anwar Ibrahim atau Syed Husin Ali.

"Tidak pasti," jawab Syed Husin Ali, "Tetapi dalam satu surat Anwar sebut..." Beliau mula menceritakan bagaimana Anwar menyatakan hasratnya dalam surat yang diseludup keluar dari penjara.

"Jadi, pada Dr. Syed (gambar kanan), apakah pertimbangan Anwar ketika mencadangkan pencantuman ini?" tanya wartawan MerdekaReview.

"Sebenarnya dia (Anwar) jelaskan, lebih kurang beginilah. Dia melihat bahawa kebanyakan anggota dalam PKN, bukan tak ada, tetapi kebanyakan anggota biasa, terdiri daripada pelbagai golongan..."

Syed Husin Ali bersambung, "Satu golongan UMNO, satu golongan ABIM (Angkatan Belia Islam Malaysia ), satu golongan JIM (Pertubuhan Jamaah Islah Malaysia ), satu golongan NGO. Dan kebanyakan anggota biasa ini masih belum ada pengalaman politik, belum ada pandangan politik yang jelas, dan beliau mengharapkan kerjasama daripada Parti Rakyat untuk memberikan misalnya, sedikit... pendirian yang lebih bermakna."

PRM pula, pada ketika itu berdepan dengan masalah perkembangan organisasi yang terbantut, bilangan ahli aktif yang berkurang, meskipun mencatat bilangan 30,000 ahli yang mendaftar pada waktu itu. Syed Husin Ali mengakui realiti bahawa kekuatan PRM semakin menyusut jikalau dibandingkan dengan zaman Barisan Sosialis.

Oleh yang demikian, PRM melihat cadangan pencantuman ini sebagai satu peluang untuk mengembangkan idea kepada massa. Untuk tiga tahun berturut-turut kongres PRM membincangkan agenda ini, dan akhirnya kongres meluluskan usul agar PRM dibubarkan dan bercantum dengan Parti Keadilan Nasional, dengan sokongan majoriti dua pertiga, kata Syed Husin Ali.

Tentangan dalaman kedua-dua parti

Bagaimanapun, pertikaian tidak berhenti di situ. Percantuman ini berdepan dengan tentangan segolongan kecil anggota, termasuk beberapa orang pemimpin dari ABIM. Dalam satu warkah dari penjara berjudul "Pakatan Pembangkang Digeruni Kerajaan" pada Ogos 2003, Anwar sengaja mengungkap lembaran sejarah perjuangan PRM menentang penjajahan dan imperialisme, "untuk memperlihatkan aspek relevan dalam perjuangan kini terutama dalam konteks penggabungan KeADILan dan PRM".

Untuk beberapa tahun yang berikutnya, Anwar perlu mempertahankan bekas gurunya daripada prejudis dan tanggapan negatif terhadap "orang kiri", malah menyatakan kesanggupan untuk berkempen mempertahankan Syed Husin Ali sebagai Timbalan Presiden dalam PKR, kerana menganggap ia sesuatu yang tidak beretika untuk menendang Presiden PRM selepas pencantuman, dengan bilangan ahli yang majoriti.

Sementara itu, keputusan Syed Husin Ali dan parti untuk mengambil risiko dengan membubarkan PRM dan bercantum dengan PKN, turut dipertikaikan oleh beberapa orang rakan seperjuangan dalam partinya. Sesetengah pemimpin PRM tetap meragui keikhlasan Anwar, yang dijangkakannya akan kembali ke pangkuan UMNO.

"Saya pasti dia (Anwar) tak masuk UMNO," tegas Syed Husin Ali dengan yakin, biarpun pendirian Anwar agak "kabur" untuk seketika, sebaik dibebaskan dari penjara pada tahun 2004. Apakah punca keyakinan bekas profesor Universiti Malaya terhadap anak muridnya ini? Soalan ini diajukan kerana Syed Husin Ali memaklumkan kepada wartawan, bahawa Rafidah Aziz (bekas Ketua Wanita UMNO) juga salah seorang anak muridnya.

"Pertama, komunikasi saya dengan dia (Anwar, gambar kiri). Sesetengah surat dia masih saya simpan..." Syed Husin Ali meneruskan, "Kedua, mereka (UMNO) sudah begitu menghina dia dengan keluarga dia, tak mungkin dia kembali ke situ."

"Saya kenal dia dah lama, sebagai student (pelajar), sebagai kawan, sebagai orang tahanan sama, sebagai orang yang sama-sama berjuang..." Dengan kata lain, hubungan yang merentasi kira-kira empat dekad inilah yang menjadi benteng kepercayaan Syed Husin Ali terhadap Anwar.

Razaleigh bersifat feudal

Malah, beliau sendiri menyebut nama Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah sebagai perbandingan. "Saya bekerjasama rapat dengan Tengku Razaleigh (bekas Presiden Semangat 46) dulu, saya tak begitu yakin dengan perjuangan Tengku Razaleigh (gambar kanan bawah). Tak begitu yakin..."

Beliau turut ketawa dengan luahan dirinya yang berterus-terang, "Ada dua sebab, satu dia bersifat feudal yang kuat. Anda boleh jadi Tengku tetapi pada masa yang sama tak feudal sangat. Misalnya, dalam mesyuarat, orang selalu tunjukkan penghormatan feudal kepadanya. Dan dia macam tak ada benda. Kadang-kadang macam biasa sahaja. Kalau orang yang ada sikit sifat yang tak feudal, dia tak mahu menerima cara-cara begini."

"Dan bezanya dengan Anwar. Anwar you boleh kritik dia. Anggota biasa boleh kritik dia. Dia akan dengar. Terutama sekali seperti sekarang," kata Syed Husin Ali.

"Yang keduanya, Semangat 46 dengan Tengku Razaleigh, mereka tak pernah mahu mengakui diri sebagai pembangkang. Tak pernah mahu menentang kuat pihak polis atau pihak kerajaan. Kalau misalnya dia pergi ceramah, polis datang suruh henti, terus henti. Tak ada lawan tak ada apa... Kalau misalnya sebelum ceramah, tak ada permit, dia tak pergi."

"Anwar tidak, orang-orang PKR tidak. Kalau lagi disekat, lagi mereka lawan. Kalau tak lama pun sekejap (mereka lawan). Tetapi ini semangat yang saya anggap berbeza dengan Semangat 46." Jiwa inilah sebenarnya yang dihayati Syed Husin Ali, yang mungkin ramai di kalangan anggota PKR tidak menyedarinya. Beliau seterusnya mendedahkan, "Tengku Razaleigh pernah minta PRM bersama (Semangat) 46, saya terus tolak."

Anwar berjiwa kerakyatan

Sememangnya, Anwar Ibrahim seorang pemimpin politik yang kontroversial, sepanjang perjuangannya menggunakan wadah ABIM, UMNO dan kini PKR. Tetapi, Syed Husin Ali menemui unsur "kerakyatan" yang sebati dalam jiwanya.

"Saya tahu dia prihatin terhadap orang yang miskin, setinggan. Dalam tahanan, saya nampak dia memang tak ada prejudis terhadap orang Tionghua, atau orang bukan Melayu. Bahkan kadang-kadang, mereka menganggap dalam beberapa aspek, saya lebih melayu (bersifat kemelayuan) daripada dia," katanya sambil ketawa.

"Saya rasa dia seorang yang ikhlas, dan tidak berdendam." Demikianlah jawapannya ketika diminta untuk menilai Anwar Ibrahim. Beliau mengamati perubahan yang berlaku dalam diri anak muridnya ini, "Saya sendiri sangka dia akan masuk PAS waktu itu (selepas dibebaskan dari tahanan ISA tahun 1970-an). Tapi hubungannya dengan Mahathir cukup rapat. Terutama sekali selepas 13 Mei...bila Mahathir dikeluarkan (disingkirkan) daripada UMNO. Dia memang rapat dengan Mahathir. Dan saya percaya Mahathir lebih kuat pengaruhnya ke atasnya."

Bagaimanapun, Syed Husin Ali mengakui, "Dari segi perwatakan, bila dia (Anwar) jadi menteri, ada sifat orang besar sikitlah. Tapi pada hakikatnya saya tahu, pendirian politiknya tak berubah. Sebab tu mudah saja bagi dia kembali kepada yang asal, sekarang ini."

Sejauh mana unsur "kerakyatan" diterapkan?

Penilaian Syed Husin Ali terhadap pencantuman ini setelah tujuh tahun merumuskan bahawa PKR telah memulakan satu tradisi yang amat penting untuk menjadi sebuah parti yang multi-etnik. Pemimpin Melayu telah berani untuk mengetengahkan dasar parti yang bukan bercorakkan kemelayuan dan keagamaan, tetapi kerakyatan.

Wartawan menyusul dengan menyenaraikan Agenda Ekonomi Baru, konsep "Ketuanan Rakyat", slogan "Merakyatkan ekonomi", yang diterapkan ke dalam pentadbiran PKR-Pakatan Rakyat selepas tsunami politik. Syed Husin Ali yang rendah diri bagaimanapun enggan mengundang jasa dalam hal ini. Namun, wartawan melanjutkan persoalan dengan merujuk kepada orang-orang di keliling Anwar, yang kebanyakannya berhaluan kanan, atau liberal.

Sejauh manakah unsur "kerakyatan" ini diterapkan dalam dasar parti pada masa depan, apabila Syed Husin Ali tidak berada pada tempat nombor dua ini?

"Saya yakin dari dua segi. Satu, dasar parti sudah jelas. Keduanya, kalau kita perhatikan, ucapan dan kenyataan pemimpin utama kita, terutama sekali Anwar, juga Wan Azizah, dan Khalid Ibrahim misalnya, mereka menekankan aspek-aspek kerakyatan ini. Dan Khalid Ibrahim, walaupun dia seorang dari latar belakang korporat, tetapi sentimennya untuk menolong rakyat, walaupun pada mula-mulanya, rakyat Melayu terutama sekali, adalah sangat kuat."

Beliau menambah, "Jadi saya yakin, mereka tidak akan lari dari teras perjuangan." Namun, siapakah "pengganti" Syed Husin Ali yang bukan sahaja mewarisi jiwa "kepedulian rakyat"-nya, tetapi memiliki kewibawaan untuk mengetengahkan pandangan dalam Majlis Pimpinan Pusat pada masa depan?

"Saya nak tegaskan bahawa, perubahan dalam parti, dasar dalam parti, masa depan parti, tidak ditentukan oleh satu orang. Tetapi ditentukan oleh organisasi seluruhnya," tekannya, setelah enggan menyebut nama khusus pemimpin baru yang berkongsi idealisme bersamanya, seperti yang diminta wartawan.

Zaid, Azmin...

Syed Husin Ali pada mulanya enggan mengulas secara spesifik calon Timbalan Presiden yang bakal menggantikannya. Tetapi apabila wawancara menyentuh beberapa kenyataan yang dibuat Zaid Ibrahim baru-baru ini, beliau kelihatan terpanggil untuk menjawab beberapa tuduhan.

Biarpun bersetuju bahawa "musuh parti" seharusnya dirujuk kepada "musuh yang lebih besar", iaitu "segelintir perompak yang merampas harta negara di luar parti", tetapi beliau jelas terusik apabila nama Soh Chee Wen dikaitkan dengan Anwar, oleh Zaid Ibrahim. Perbualan kemudian dilanjutkan kepada Zaid Ibrahim...

"Tidak semua jawatan yang disebut media, yang kononnya dipegang oleh Zaid, benar. Sebenarnya dasar Pakatan (Rakyat) dibuat satu kumpulan, bukan seorang. Memang dia ditugaskan untuk daftarkan Pakatan (Rakyat), tapi tidak bererti dia coordinator for Pakatan," Syed Husin Ali cuba memperbetulkan.

Berhubung dasar Pakatan Rakyat, Syed Husin Ali berkata, "Dia (Zaid) ada buat first draft. Akan tetapi bila dia berada di luar negara, dasar pakatan itu telah disiapkan oleh sebuah jawatankuasa yg terdiri daripada wakil ketiga-tiga parti. Apa yang disiapkan oleh jawatankuasa inilah yang dikemukakan dalam Konvensyen Pakatan Rakyat dan diterima sebagai agenda perubahan Pakatan Rakyat."

Syed Husin Ali secara jujur mengakui bahawa dirinya mungkin menyimpan prejudis terhadap Zaid (gambar kanan, tengah), calon PRU yang nyaris ditentang oleh dirinya ketika PRU ke-10 pada tahun 2004 di kawasan parlimen Kota Bahru. Beliau mengungkit zaman Zaid ketika menjadi Presiden Persatuan Peguam Islam, apabila wartawan mengajukan pandangan bahawa "Zaid dilihat lebih kuat dari segi idea untuk memimpin".

"Nak katakan sarat dengan idea, tidak juga..." Pemimpin veteran ini bagaimanapun memberi nasihatnya, "Dia perlu jadi team player. Ketika beliau dilantik masuk Biro Politik, bila suka datang (hadir mesyuarat). Bila tak suka, tak datang. Macam mana anda menjadi pemimpin seperti itu?"

Bagaimana pula dengan Azmin Ali (gambar kanan)? "Azmin Ali ada juga kekurangan... Misalnya dia dilihat sombong dan berpuak-puak oleh sesetengah orang..." Beliau enggan mengulas lanjut, "Tapi secara ikhlas daripada saya, orang yang memimpin parti haruslah orang yang komited kepada asas-asas perjuangan Parti seperti termaktub dalam Perlembagaannya, menghormati disiplin organisasi Parti, sudah teruji merentas duri dan ranjau perjuangan, bergerak secara pemain berpasukan (team player), menentang amalan korupsi dalam segala bentuk dan mendukung nilai akhlak yang tinggi."

Adakah Azmin Ali memenuhi syarat tersebut? "Ada dia penuhi, ada tidak..." Wartawan menyusul dengan soalan bahawa Azmin dilihat kurang menyentuh soal dasar. "Dari segi idea, dia ada idea. Dia harus lebih cakap pasal dasar, mulai sekarang..." katanya.

Wartawan terus menguji, menyebut nama Sivarasa Rasiah, Naib Presiden sekarang. "Dari politik, dia matang sebenarnya...."

Tian Chua? "Tian Chua (gambar kanan) saya rasa dia lebih efektif on the street (ketawa), imej dia di situ. Tapi dia disiplin juga...dia datang mesyuarat, taklah bersikap 'suka datang, tak suka tak datang'. Lagipun dia tak condemn (mempersalahkan) parti di luar..." Syed Husin Ali, menambah "Nak condemn, datang dan condemn dalam mesyuarat..."

Syed Husin Ali melihat secara positif generasi pemimpin muda dalam PKR, meskipun mengakui bahawa sayap pemuda, iaitu Angkatan Muda Keadilan ini lemah dari segi organisasi. Beliau mempersalahkan pengaruh yang ditinggalkan bekas Ketua AMK, yang disifatnya sebagai "self-centered" (berpusatkan diri).

Syed Husin Ali secara terus-terang dengan kritikannya terhadap budaya tidak menepati masa dalam parti, "Perpaduan organisasi tak begitu mantap, kerana disiplin tak kuat."

Liew's team sweep KK division, rival cries foul

KOTA KINABALU: The incumbent chief for PKR Kota Kinabalu division Chrisitna Liew defeated her contender Ronnie Klassen with a majority of 165 votes after polling 252 votes against Klassen’s 87 votes. There were seven spoilt votes.

Her running mate Roman Lo also beat his opponent Dr Chong Eng Leong in the contest for the deputy chief post by a majority of 120 votes when he polled 228 votes against Chong’s 108 votes.

Her other running mate Wong Kin Yin also beat her opponent Benny Quek with a majority vote of 150, by polling 234 votes against Benny’s 84 votes. There were five spoilt votes.

In the battle to head the women's wing, Liew's running mate Roslind Bion polled 65 votes against Chu Shuk Fun (51) votes. There were two spoilt votes.

In an immediate response, Klassen claimed that there were irregularities in the voting process and that he had lodged an official protest with the election committee before the vote counting began.

Among others, he claimed that Liew had convened the Annual General Meeting (AGM) much earlier at 9.25am instead of 10am as stated in the notice of meeting, besides claiming that her people were seen marking the ballot papers on behalf of members, instead of them going into the designated voting area to vote on their own.

He claimed that one of the election officials upon being alerted by him had went over to stop Liew’s people from doing so.

He also claimed that the ballot papers did not tally with the number of members who turned out to vote with 325 members attending but 350 ballot papers submitted.

“In any election there’s always a victor and loser. I can accept defeat if it was truly done in a democratic manner,” he said.

“The tactics employed by my opponent are beyond the true spirit of a friendly contest. I may have lost but my fight for change in PKR will continue,” he added.

Klassen also refused to sign the result sheet.

“I will not recognise the result and I will protest till the end. My team members have taken photographs and a video of what transpired during the voting,” he said.

Liew: Let officials decide

Meanwhile, in her response, Liew said she would leave it to the team of six election officials from the party headquarters to deal with Klassen’s complaints and allegations.

She thanked the members for their support to her and her team in the election, adding that it had reaffirmed their struggle to continue the work for the party.

“Our struggle is clear from day one – to change the corrupt, arrogant BN (Barisan Nasional) government to a Pakatan government in the next general election,” she said.

She also said she would be calling for a meeting with her new committee soon to activate the election machinery in full gear.

Meanwhile, Penampang PKR secretary Franky Lobinjang disclosed that its AGM cum election has been postponed to Oct 3 and the division was waiting for confirmation on the venue from the party headquarters.

“We will inform all the members once it is confirmed,” he said.

When contacted, PKR vice president Dr Jeffrey Kitingan said his contest with Danny Andiapi would only be held on Sept 26.

Sabah PKR candidate lodges police report over campaign slander

KOTA KINABALU: The battle for PKR posts in Sabah has taken on a criminal twist with one candidate lodging a police report over campaign strategies adopted by a rival.

Ronnie Klassen who is challenging Christina Liew for the Kota Kinabalu PKR branch chief post has lodged a police report against the latter for allegedly slandering him.

Klassen said that the report was lodged at the Karamunsing police station on Aug 31 and he had also submitted an official report to the party's disciplinary board as Liew had breached PKR's code of ethics.

He told a press conference on Tuesday that Liew, who is also Sabah PKR deputy chairperson, and PKR Kota Kinabalu women's chief Rosalind Bion had sent slanderous and malicious SMSes against him and his team to members of the division.

Klassen is challenging Liew for the post at the party elections on Saturday, Sept 18. Also in the fray are former Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) leader Dr Chong Eng Leong and former Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) Luyang community leader Benny Quek Yi Than.

Chong is vying for the deputy divisional chief post while Quek, the vice president's post. They are challenging Roman Lo and Wong Kin Yin who are the incumbents. They are also pitting Chu Shuk Fun against current Kota Kinabalu division chief Rosalind Bion.

According to Klassen, the SMSes sent by Liew and Bion alleged that he was unscrupulous.

“I can take any kind of SMSes but when she (Liew) gets personal and breaches Section 2.4 of the party's code of ethics, this I cannot tolerate. So my message to Christina is, don't stoop down so low in wanting to attack me.

“This is a very friendly party election and we are not here to slander or attack anyone. If I want to attack anyone, I will attack Umno or Barisan Nasional, not the party members,” he said.

Time for change

He said that his group was challenging the current Kota Kinabalu PKR division leadership because they feel that it is time for a change.

“My purpose is to clean the party up and raise the level of patriotism among the Kota Kinabalu division's 3,340 members.,” he said, adding that most of the members were also in the dark as to what has been happening in the division all this while.

Klassen is challenging Liew to a debate over what she had accomplished for the division in the last 10 years and what she will be doing for them in the next three years.

“As PRK de-facto leader Anwar Ibrahim and other party leaders are coming to Sabah tomorrow (Wednesday), maybe we can invite them to come to the debate,” he said.

Klassen said that he was an independent of any faction within PKR and denied claims that he was aligned to former state PKR chief Ansari Abdullah, a rival to PRK vice president Dr Jeffrey Kitingan.

He described his team as a “new breed of members” who believe in the party's cause and he urged party's leaders to 'stop fighting'.

“My advice to them is to stop all this. If they have their ears to the ground then their would have heard that this is what the people are saying,” he said.

The illegal immigrants are the occupants of this illegal housing, and everything here is illegal. It started with illegal use of condemned buildings, renting houses to illegal immigrants, stealing of electricity and water supply, no sanitary installation, and many other illegal items.这里的人没还市政厅的门牌税和地税，但非法移民却能享受市政厅为他们免费清理垃圾。民联的领袖们表示，难怪这些人尽管受冒着被将倒塌的房屋压死也不搬迁。该处许多房屋的钢筋混凝土结构已经破裂成碎片，任何轻微的动摇将会导致该破房子完全崩坍。

The few rows of this pathetic abandoned terraced houses in Taman Makmur along Lintas Square in Luyang, Kota Kinabalu is the focus of many public complaints received by the leaders of the Sabah Pakatan Rakyat which included Dr. Chong Eng Leong, Benny Quak, Ronnie Klassan and Dr. Hiew King Cheu, the KK MP.

The PR team arranged a joint inspection on the 12^th September, to check on the various complaints arising from the people. This place is truly a filthy slump area in the beautiful City of Kota Kinabalu. The housing had been condemned by the authorities as a disqualified housing with its OC lifted some thirty years ago due to the structural defects of the buildings and unqualified supervision procedure. The serious crumpling of the building had caused most of the building becoming impossible to live in.

The people here don’t pay house assessment and quit rent, but they enjoy the constant service from the Dewan Bandaraya Kota Kinabalu in clearing their garbage for free. The PR leaders said "no wonder these people don’t want to move out in spite of the danger of being crushed by the collapsing houses". The reinforced concrete structure of the housing had already broken into pieces and any slight movement can caused the house to collapse totally.

Dr. Chong Eng Leong sighted that the ill health condition of no sewerage system in the housing and the people here are "shitting" everywhere especially just next door is the Luyang Polyclinic causing much health hazard. The drains here are filled with dirty water, garbage and mosquitoes. He said how can DBKK did not border to take action on this abandoned housing. He further said that he had earlier on made a police report and published in the newspapers on why allowing the Illegal Immigrants to stay in the housing and the authorities took a blind eye over it. So far the police and the authorities did nothing.

Dr. Hiew the KK MP said that there is law covering the harbouring of illegal immigrants and include providing them with shelter is a punishable offend. He urges the DBKK and the police together with other relevant government bodies to work together to clear the area and help those house owners in Taman Makmur to redevelop the whole housing immediately or give them an alternative solution to solve their problems. Kota Kinabalu City cannot be spoiled by the unsightly look of Taman Makmur.

沙巴民联领袖邱庆洲博士，庄永谅医生，郭义海，罗尼加拉申(Ronnie Klassan)和其他领袖经常接到许多市民的投诉有关在路阳岭兰花园住宅区的问题。在路阳岭兰花园有二十多间排屋被遗弃多年，如今已成为非法移民的安乐窝。

民联团队安排在9月12日前往视察有关该处的问题，并发现该处正如市民所说的一样。这个地方确实是在美丽的亚庇市中心造成极度碍眼和有毁市容。由于不合格的建筑程序，工程监督和结构有缺陷，该些房屋在约30年前已被地方当局取消其入伙纸，并鉴定为危楼。此外，多数的单位已崩垮，造成了严重损坏。现在该些破烂的房屋已被非法移民非法占用为其住所。在该处每一样都是非法的，例如，非法使用的不合格的建筑物，出租房屋于非法移民，盗窃电力和水的供应，没有卫生设施，以及许多其他非法事件。

庄永谅医生说，该处没有污水处理系统，而且环境欠佳，该处的非法居民到处拉屎，而隔壁就是路阳医院，这将造成的极大的健康危害。在这里的水渠充满污水，垃圾和蚊子。他说，亚庇市政厅怎么可能没有发现该情况，并且没有对被遗弃的房屋采取行动。他进一步表示，他较早前已向报警，并在报纸上公布详情，他不明白为什么当局没有进行对居住在这些的房屋非法移民采取行动，反而视而不见。到目前为止，警方和有关当局并没有采取任何行动。

亚庇国会议员邱庆洲博士说，现有法律已有条例涵盖提供住所于非法入境者，包括为他们提供庇护。他敦促亚庇市政厅及警方联同其他相关政府机构携手合作，清除该地区，并帮助那些在岭兰花园的业主立即重建整个住宅区或给他们一个替代方案，以解决他们的问题。亚庇市不能被岭兰花园破烂的房屋影响市容。

A Message from Mr. Ronnie Klassen

In the name of change and to re-invent,reposition,rejuvenate our PKR Kota Kinabalu Division, today I unveil my manifesto in the upcoming party election during a press conference held at 2pm in Kota Kinabalu. My motto “We will work for the people,with the people”.

Our Manifesto:

1. A news letter in a form of a “tabloid” will be published quarterly and circulated to all members on the activities of the division. This information will keep the members abreast on whatever that’s happening within the division, no one will be left out.

2. We will also have our very own PKR Kota Kinabalu division live Internet TV, beamed live so as to give the global community an opportunity to know Kota Kinabalu. In addition we shall also have our very own Internet Radio talk show which will be held live twice a week.This will give the opportunity to members to voice their problems and grievance to the government.

3. We shall provide a sms blast service for all members, whereby information’s,such as activities and news will be disseminated to them immediately.

4. We shall activate all dormant rantings(branches)and form new rantings throughout Kota Kinabalu. Ranting chiefs will be appointed and given the mandate to ensure that the members problems are brought to the attention of the division.Rantings will be provided adequate assistance to ensure that the members activities are carried out without any hitches.

5. We shall provide educational incentives(RM 200) to members children who perform well in their examination. This incentive will be given to the TOP TWO students in UPSR, SRP, SPM and STPM. For members who are unable to provide school aids for their children due to financial constraints, a special fund will be allocated to assist them.

6. Bereavement assistance amounting to RM 200 will be given as an assistance to members.

7. A special committee will be form to assist members in obtaining jobs for those who are unable to , within Sabah.

8. A 24 hour HOT LINE will be activated for the convenience of members,Members can call this hot line or any committee member in the event of an emergency.

The Kota Kinabalu PKR Division Elections will be held on the 18th.September.2010. Did someone pushed Rosmah from behind?

A bizarre minor earthquake occurred in Kota Kinabalu,Sabah recently,which shock the 8,000 odd people believe to be present,fortunately all escape unhurt.This unexplained phenomenon may have even attracted many Taoist and fortune tellers eager to venture deeper into the unseen universe.Can the dead resurrect with vengeance?

The hottest topic in the State now is none other than the 'unrehearsed' incident where the Prime Minister's wife Rosmah Mansor slipped and fell on the floor while descending from the stage after delivering her speech as the President of Bakti (Welfare Body for Wives of Federal Ministers and Deputy Ministers and Barisan Nasional MP).

There's now a bizarre twist to the incident which many thought was a self-inflicted one. A few individuals with "unique vision" who were present at the occasion claimed to have simultaneously saw a dark and sultry female figure standing behind Rosmah, just moment before the incident. The figure was said to have stood there for few seconds before vanishing into thin air. Since the tale of the strange incident spread out, people are now wondering whether Rosmah was actually pushed from behind by the 'mysterious figure'.

Many people also joked about it that the mysterious figure could be the ghost of Altantuya who has come to Kota Kinabalu following the Malaysia's second submarine, KD Tun Razak which just arrived at the Sepangar Naval Base.

Joke aside, many considered the incident a bad omen for BN and Najib in particular, that it could signify the fall of Najib's administration and the entire BN, in the next general election.It was also reliably learnt that photographers who manage to "click away" the fall of Malaysia's "First Lady",were warned not to print the photographers,if they know what's good for them.

It may sound unbelievable and far fetch, but it's not impossible, especially in this Bolehland.

Pakatan Rakyat and Barisan Nasional craving for Putrajaya,at whose expense?

On one hand UMNO/BN will do anything to stay in power, while Pakatan Rakyat is working towards replacing them in Putrajaya. This is neither a celebrity contest nor another American idol search. This is seizing the opportunity to be the next government at any cost, but at whose expense?

Has it occurred to these two political parties that they are gambling with the lives of the very people who voted them into office? Who cares two hoods how they win, as long as they get to Putrajaya? Well, the people do care, and if anyone feels otherwise, perhaps migration would be the best option.

Let us examine Sabah, which should be one of the richest "states" in Malaysia but now is the second poorest "state" in Malaysia. How did this happen to a "state" rich in natural resources? Sabah is still till this day rich in oil. Who in their sane mind would think this is possible? And UMNO/BN and Pakatan Rakyat are only keen in racing for their jewel prize... PUTRAJAYA.

If Putrajaya is ultimately the place to govern Malaysia for Malaysians, then UMNO/BN has miserably failed in governing the country, because Sabah is still the second poorest state in Malaysia.

Of late, UMNO/BN Sabah leaders have been at each others’ throats, to see who should be rightfully given a specific seat in a constituency with strong words such as "stop bullying fellow Barisan Nasional component parties”. In retaliation, UMNO says "this is a Muslim seat and was only given to you on loan".

In my last posting, I stated that Sabahans are Beggars in their own land; soon Sabahans will be fugitives in their own land. The root of the matter is, this is all about UMNO … UMNO and only UMNO? Barisan Nasional component members have now become pariah's in the eyes of UMNO.

Recently the UMNO Supreme Council convened a meeting to deliberate the Sports Betting issue on a license that was purportedly issued to Vincent Tan, and chaired by non other then the Prime Minister himself, Najib Razak.

At the press conference immediately after the meeting, Najib blatantly said "the government has decided not to issue the license to Vincent Tan”. In a nutshell it was UMNO that decided and not the Federal Government. This is arrogance of the highest order, there again tell me what else is new.

Pakatan Rakyat in Sabah on the other hand is another sob story. Parti Keadilan Rakyat(PKR) has not shown anything concrete either, to say the least. DAP on the other hand has been rather active of late with the numerous visit by the 'Father of Opposition" Lim Kit Siang. I had the opportunity to have had breakfast with him recently, and in his twitter he labeled me as "an interesting fella".

Some have called me worst like "shit stirrer".

Recently I accompanied 5 Sarawakians to the MACC office at Shah Alam, Selangor, where a report was lodged against Taib Mahmud, Chief Minister of Sarawak on his wealth beyond comprehension. The Deputy Director, Yip Pit Wong later however REFUSED to provide a copy of the report. What bullshit. The photo shows me wondering ….. Who’s next to be thrown out the window at MACC?

Another interesting event that took place recently as well was, a Police report that was lodged against me by the President of MAJAP, Datuk Clarence Bongkus Malakun over the Allah issue. This is the very man that asked the Christian community in Sabah to abandon the word Allah. Sabah's Chief Minister Musa Aman exalts Prime Minister Najib's concern for Sabah in the 10th Malaysia Plan (10MP) as displayed through the Federal Government's generosity to the state.He is not the first Chief Minister to 'shoe polish the testicles" of a Prime Minister and surely will not be the last.

What irks Sabahans the most is,we've been hearing all this glorifying statements about development for the last 47 years and we're still hearing the same song over and over again.What's equally baffling is their call for an effective and sustainable Bumiputra economic participation,special attention will be given to bumiputras in Sabah,the question is which bumiputra's is UMNO/BN referring to - The Dayaks, Kadazans, Eurasians or just plain Malay Bumiputra's or worse the recent migrants or 'maggie-mee' bumis who get instant citizenship and bumi status?

Anyone with a clear conscience will attest that it is mind boggling,for a state rich in oil,timber,oil palm and tourism to be currently the second poorest state in the country.Where has all the wealth gone to? As one of the largest oil producing state in the country,Sabah should be the most developed state in Malaysia,yet Musa Aman alongside his UMNO/BN comrades are talking about the Federal Government's generosity to Sabah.

The Federal Government should be thanking Sabah,Sarawak,Terengganu and Kelantan for it's generosity in developing Malaysia to what it is today.Musa Aman and his entire bandwagon of infidels in UMNO/BN Sabah should immediately admit themselves into the nearest mental hospital or better yet,dissolve the state legislative assembly.Let us see if they still have the support of the people.
Is Sabah BEGGING for development? It surely appears so.Sabahans have become beggers in their own land.

The denial syndrome and greed of Musa Aman and UMNO/BN in undermining the intelligence of Sabahans and continued hoodwinking, has reached an annoying stage.With Najib's recent approval rating rising to an all-time high of 72%( Indians 80%,Malays 77% and Chinese 58% ) and the carrot dangling in the 10th Malaysia Plan,I fore-see an early elections underway.

The signs are just to great to ignore,what more with Najib knowing that Sabah is his prized "fixed deposit".The question is has Sabahans awaken from their deep induced slumber?If at all Minister in the Prime Minister's Department,Idris Jala caution that Malaysia will be bankgrupt by 2019,then we're only been hoodwinked by this 10th MP.

In contrast,this could be the time to reward the inner circle of cronies and Umno warlords. The spoils of war are to be divided according to loyalty and patronage. We all know that power and money is derived from the great Umno patronage system so perfected by Mahathir. Those who dare turn against the great patron suffers financially and politically.In short,Najib and Musa Aman are the Sheriff of Nottingham by day and transform to be Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves by night.

Sun Tzu (Art of War ) would have included UMNO/BN in his book as being an avid follower,if there was going to be a reprint.The 10th MP which is being acclaimed as goodies by the likes of Musa Aman and his bandwagon of "yes man" from UMNO/BN is more of a blackmail in preparation of an impending elections.

Once again,I must remind Sabahans,47 years of hoodwinking is enough.We've heard so much about hard core poverty for the last 25 years and we're still hearing about hard core poverty.What has happened to all the funds to eradicate poverty?We're rich in oil,timber and oil palm,why is the poverty level so high?

In a country where tyranny and injustice are the only means of the ruling elites’ existence, the only option the people have is to vote them out. Sabah UMNO/BN is dead convinced that its Federal Leaders are Saints.

Can UMNO/BN Sabah tell us, why Sabah which is rich in natural resources such as oil and timber and cash crop such as oil palm etc is the 2nd poorest state in Malaysia?

The founding fathers’ of Sabah gave their lives, so that the people of Sabah would live and enjoy the gifts of GOD. Now these gifts have been robbed off them and the people marginalized and treated as 2nd class citizens.

UMNO/BN Sabah Ministers’ have mastered the art of rhetorics and have been lying through their teeth. In short, they have been parroting their political masters and still believe Sabahans are MORONS. They call for the history of Malaysia's formation to be included in our school history books; the question is "which history are these UMNO/BN parrots referring to"?

The one that has marginalized Sabahans and down-graded them to second class citizens, or the one that Sabah is currently the second poorest state in Malaysia because of these very same politicians who have robbed the people?

If at all the people had felt that these UMNO/BN Sabah "Leaders" were made of steel when they "conned" Sabahans into believing that they were fighting for their rights, the people have now awoken to know that these "Leaders" were in actual fact out to "steal".

To change Malaysia for the better, Sabah in particular, we must now change the government. In the words of Sabah's Minister of Tourism and Environment, Masidi Manjun "there is no such thing as a one-size-fits-all policy. It has to be tailor-made to suit the pecularities of Sabah and Sarawak". While I may agree with him, I wonder if it’s just political rhetoric to hoodwink the people and defuse the situation.

I recall Masidi Manjun and Bernard Dompok lying through their teeth, when they said they had NO KNOWLEDGE of a RM 2.8 Billion Kaiduan Dam in Penampang, until I produced the LETTER OF AWARD issued by the very same government they are working with.
So, why should Sabahans believe them now?

Sabahans are patriotic to the nation and will fight to their last drop of blood to defend the nation. And they are always reminded to adhere to and believe in the Constitution. My question is, which constitution are we talking about NOW?

Tun Fuad Stephens had called for the review of the provisions in the constitution of the country because it did not seem to reflect what was intended by the original Malaysian agreement. Look what happened to him and his cabinet - "dead”. Was it political assassination? The people of Sabah have been oppressed to the extend that they have to BEG for development funds and any meaningful funds comes only once every 5 years during the elections. Sabahans must not and should not be beggars in their own land, They MUST RISE and demand back what rightfully belongs to them.

BN Sabah partners of late have been at each other's throats; which indicates huge cracks within. Ironically, no one has the testicles to say..."we are leaving Barisan Nasional". Why not so? It's obvious ... projects and hand-outs of course. I heard from the grapevine recently that Sabah's Chief Minister Musa Aman and aspiring candidate for Chief Minister Shafie Apdal (PM Najib's "blue-eyed boy") were in a heated argument over projects monopolized by Musa in Semporna. Either way, volcanic eruptions are about to happen.

Sabahans are ready for change. The Sibu, Sarawak by-elections has opened the floodgates with renewed vigour that, it is now possible for the very same tsunami that hit West Malaysia in the 12th general elections to strike again here in East Malaysia.

Sabahans must first change by saying “NO” to bribery and UMNO/BN's corruptive RM50 notes as inducement just to vote for them. Are we tradable commodities … and insultingly … worth just RM50?

Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR ) will be having its 6th Annual Congress on the 26th-30th in Kota Bahru and many issues will be deliberated, all under the name of strengthening the party. My question is, does PKR exist in Sabah?

If the answer is in the affirmative, then their leadership in Sabah must be "transparent" and vocal, as their silence may denote non-existence.

Who is actually calling the shots in PKR Sabah? I urge the Leadership to re-visit the problems that are plaguing PKR Sabah to ensure the Party remains relevant in facing the 13th general election. There is a leadership problem that must be addressed immediately, or all hell may break loose.

The people are watching, and they don't like what they see.

Today my blog celebrates it's first anniversary.Exactly a year ago,I woke up with tears in my eyes and wondered if there was a reason for me to shed tears or was this a calling from God.Sipping my tea-tarik with friends at our nearby favorite coffee shop,the inspiration from friends further motivated me.It was the beginning of a journey to tell Sabahans and Sarawakians,enough of all this hoodwinking.

We must now exposed and reveal the corrupt politicians from UMNO/BN who have robbed,raped and cheated us.I thank everyone who has supported my blog,and assure you that I will not compromise with any crooked politician until Sabah and Sarawak is restored to what rightfully belongs to them.My advice to all aspiring Pakatan Rakyat politicians young and the oldies,change within or you will be HISTORY.Do not gamble with the lives of the people,the people are watching.

The Truth Must Prevail.

Sabahans shed tears when their first Huguan Siou ( Fuad Stephens) gave his life for the sake of his people he loved so much that they may live a good life to enjoy all of God's gift to them - timber, good weather, good nature, OIL etc. His well planned death by the perpetrators however has diminished and shattered all hopes of Sabahans, yesterday,today and the future.

What's more frightening was my discovery, after having a chat with an interesting character in Kuala Lumpur.His rank was a Colonel and he was the intelligence officer to Tun Fuad Stephens. In his own words "the target man was actually DATUK PETER MOJUNTIN". (?)

The Golden Son Of The Kadazan (Datuk Peter Mojuntin) was primarily one of the main target man in the " politically motivated " crash of the ill-fated plane that stunned the people of Sabah. Would Sabah be far better off had this "political assassination" hadn't taken place?

With hundreds of billions already robbed by the Federal Government over the past 34 years, the crumbs returned has not only been insulting but only enjoyed by a select few who in turn have now become millionaires.Has the families of the victims been induced with richness beyond our imagination,not withstanding the fact that they have also been warned never to reveal the truth behind the crash? Are their lives still under threat?

There is doubt now that the Chief Minister of Sarawak at that time,Rahman Yaakub agreed to the 5% royalty as claimed by the Federal Government. Massive developments has taken place in West Malaysia,but Sabah and Sarawak still lag far behind.

As the milking cow of the Federal Government,the East Malaysian states are doomed till eternity, unless Sabahans and Sarawakians stand up with one voice and say enough is enough.

UMNO/BN-The Jekyll and Hyde in modern times.

In the latest twist of events,the Federal Government has signed off a major oil find to Brunei worth RM 320 Billion.Who stands to benefit from this? The Federal Government has claimed that the State Governments of Sabah and Sarawak have been advised and dully consulted.The fact that the exchange of letters between Malaysia and Brunei has been formalized would clearly indicate,that Taib Mahmud (Chief Minister of Sarawak) and Musa Aman (Chief Minister of Sabah) had agreed to the surrender of an oil find which could have contributed RM16 Billion in terms of the 5% oil royalty.Both these Chief Ministers should be haul up and put on trial for treason.

Who gave these two Chief Ministers the right to agree? East Malaysia belongs to the people of Sabah and Sarawak and not a personal property of this two so-called " distinguished gentlemen".Was this so-called consultation made between Musa Aman and Taib Mahmud and in cahoots with the Federal Government to further enrich themselves?

Was an act of treason committed by the former Prime Minister, Ahmad Badawi and his entire Cabinet when they "surrendered our maritime territory"? The Najib Razak, the Prime Minister was also a member of Badawi's administration,and Malaysians demand an explanation.

The state Government's of Sabah and Sarawak have "sold their souls" to the Federal Government,while the people continue to rot under dictatorial rule of highly corrupted politicians.

Sabah and Sarawak no longer have leaders of steel but leaders who steal.

“Truth Is The Remedy To All”. Fuad Stephens and his Cabinet Members "POLITICALLY ASSASSINATED" ?

As sure as an orphan would want to know his parents, Sabahans want to and must know the truth as to what really happened on the 6th.June.1976.Was the death of Tun Fuad Stephens and his Cabinet members an accident or ‘accident’? Reliable sources claimed that the fatal Nomad Aircraft carrying Tun Fuad exploded in mid-air and dropped to the ground where a second explosion occurred. Why was the aircraft requested to circle and not given the green light to land?

Doesn't the Chief Minister of Sabah take precedence over everyone? Did the control tower inform the pilot to circle because an Air force Hercules C-130 was about to take off? Reliable sources also claim there was no Hercules C-130 on the tarmac that was ready to take off on that day.

In my earlier 2 articles in my blog on the oil royalty issue, we referred to information that was never made known to Sabahans. The revelation by Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah that he was already strapped to his seat alongside Datuk Rahman Yaakub(Chief Minister of Sarawak) and a member of the Pahang Royalty and together with Tun Fuad and his Cabinet Ministers and later requested to disembark from the aircraft by Harris Salleh to visit a cattle farm in Kudat/Banggi is not only baffling but against any protocol- hence a huge can of worms has now open.

It is also tantamount to insubordination and an insult to the Chief Minister then, Tun Fuad. Harris Salleh in a recent press statement ( Daily Express dated 7th.April.2010 ) denounced this fact in what he claimed to be " grossly inaccurate and carried away with pleasantries ".

Was the visit to the cattle farm more important than the historical event that was going to take place - which was the signing of the petroleum agreement between the Sabah Government and the Federal Government/Petronas? Was visiting this cattle farm in the agenda of Razaleigh's visit? Who is now LYING ? The people of Sabah now demand to know the truth. Was this a " political assassination "?

Researching this event gave me the opportunity to come into contact with many Sabahans who are still till this very day angered by the events that took place on the 6th.June.1976.Was there a " BOMB " planted in the ill-fated Nomad Aircraft ? If a bomb did exist who planted it and under whose instruction?

And who is Lee Kang Yu ? It was reliably learnt that Lee Kang Yu was a trusted aid and trustee to Harris Salleh, who fled to Hong Kong where he later passed away. His thumb print had to be used for verification for withdrawal of assets before he could be laid to rest.

Did Lee Kang Yu plant a bomb in the Nomad Aircraft, and who gave the instruction? Among the first person to be at the crash site was senior information officer,TK Wong,who lived a few metres from the crash site.Ironically,the police arrived almost immediately and condoned off the entire area.No known report was submitted by the Information Department to the State Security Committee on the ill-fated crash,why?

In the purported conversation between Tengku Razaleigh and Tun Fuad Stephens, pursuant to the oil royalty, Ku Li had claimed that Tun Fuad had agreed to the 5% oil royalty as Sarawak had earlier also agreed to the 5% oil royalty.Sabah and Sarawak have over the years till this day have had a brotherly relationship.

Now Sarawakians should be asking,did Rahman Yaakub agree to the 5% oil royalty? On the morning of the 6th.June.1976,Tun Fuad and his Cabinet Ministers flew to Labuan with an objective to re-negotiate. Tun Fuad was in total disagreement to the 5% oil royalty hence he brought his Cabinet Ministers to say their piece to Tengku Razaleigh. Did Tun Fuad and his Cabinet inform Tengku Razaleigh that if the Federal Government did not agree to his demand for an increased share percentage for Sabah, he would publicly announce that he was going to pull Sabah out of Malaysia?

In the afternoon of Good Friday (2nd.April.2010) at my lunch interview with Tengku Razaleigh, I sensed a man that was just waiting to tell the truth, but decided to provide bits and pieces and allowing others to complete the jig-saw puzzle. On the evening of the same day, Tengku Razaleigh was no longer the same person I met earlier.

Was he threatened by anyone, group or enforcement agency? Tengku Razaleigh was supposed to deliver a talk on the Petroleum Development Act 1974 as well as the problems plaguing the oil producing states in Malaysia.

Why did Tengku Razaleigh bring up the matter of the plane crash on the 6th.June.1976?

Was he deliberately trying to tell the truth but not the whole truth?In the presence of about 1,000 odd people who were in attendance at the dialogue, Tengku Razaleigh clearly stated that he was all strapped up in the ill-fated Nomad Aircraft and ready to fly with Tun Fuad to Kota Kinabalu, until Harris Salleh boarded the aircraft and "invited" him to visit the cattle farm in Kudat/Banggi, which apparently was more important and took precedence over the signing of the oil royalty agreement.

Another interesting episode of the crash, was the inconsistent manner in which the Inquiry was conducted. The Magistrate concerned requested for a full re- investigation in "an open verdict" as reported in the newspapers but did the authorities re-investigate the crash ? Why not?Whose was the hidden hand that instructed the authorities NOT to re-investigate the crash? Perhaps the time has come for this Magistrate to appear and tell the truth.

Since the exposure of these new developments in my blog, a few political leaders have "suddenly" come out demanding for the case to be RE-OPENED. I applaud the daring stand taken by Datuk Yong Teck Lee and Dr.Jeffery Kitingan in demanding a new investigation on what actually happened on the 6th.June.1976.

What is mind boggling and beyond comprehension is the reversal of the stand of the Sabah State Government. Chief Minister, Musa Aman in a press statement(Daily Express, dated 7th.April.2010 ) said "the amount of allocation from the Federal Government pouring into Sabah is more important than discussing an increase in the oil royalty for the state ", " KL has been very generous with funds for Sabah”. He further added "to me ,what's important here is we don't talk about oil royalty".

My question to Musa Aman is, when did Sabah become so rich that our own resources are not important to discuss? Allow me to jerk the memory of our delusional Chief Minister. Sabah is currently the second poorest state in Malaysia and the oil in Sabah belongs to the people of Sabah. Are Chief Ministers required to take an oath of secrecy never to divulge the truth on what actually happened on the 6th.June.1976?

Oil is a gift from God to the people of Sabah, and ‘His’ name is not Musa Aman. Musa Aman's remarks, clearly proves that Tengku Razaleigh was probably not lying when he mentioned that NO SABAH CHIEF MINISTER had ever made any attempt to re-negotiate, request or demand from the Federal Government for a larger oil royalty stake for Sabah. Musa Aman has therefore insulted the intelligence of Sabahans and should do the honourable thing by resigning or better yet dissolving the entire assembly and call for fresh state elections.

Could history have changed for the better had Tun Fuad and his Cabinet Ministers not perished in that controversial crash? The truth must be told and the people of Sabah have every right to know the truth and no one has the right to say otherwise. I therefore urge the family members of Tun Fuad and his Cabinet Ministers to join and assist me as well as all right thinking Sabahans who till this day are devastated by the death of our warriors to demand for the truth to be told. The tears of many are still flowing, let us not remain persecuted by "cover- up's ".

Ku Li Opens Up More Uncertainties?

Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah may have been the last man on the face of the earth who spoke to the late Tun Fuad Stephens on the 6th of June 1976,pursuant to the controversial 5% oil royalty to Sabah.The death of Sabah's first Huguan Siou (Paramount Leader of the Kadazan / Dusuns)that perished in a "strange", fatal plane crash on the 6th.June.1976,will continue to haunt Sabahans and probably Malaysians in general for decades to come?Was the last conversation between Tengku Razaleigh and Tun Fuad Stephens on the oil royalty of 5% or was it 30%?, we will never know. Are there secrets that have yet to be unearthed?

I had the distinguished pleasure of interviewing Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah during his visit to Sabah on 2nd.April.2010 at Hyatt Kota Kinabalu,over lunch,that lasted for about 2 hours..Among those present were Dato' Dominic Puthucheary,Mazlan Harun,Thamrin Ghafar Baba and a few others.Ku Li was here as part of his nationwide roadshow,championing the oil royalty issue that has now become the focus of attention among the oil producing states in Malaysia.This was the transcript of my exclusive interview with Tengku Razaleigh.

Ronnie : Tengku,you were probably the last man on earth to have met the late Tun Fuad Stephens,prior to the fatal plane crash.Did Tun Fuad agree to the 5% oil royalty?

Tengku : I had a telephone conversation with Tun Fuad Stephens on the 5th.June.1976,and he agreed to the 5% oil royalty,since Sarawak had also agreed to a similar percentage.

Ronnie : We understand that there was an agreement between the Sabah Government and the Federal Government/ Petronas,which was to be signed on the 7th.June.1976.The signing ceremony however was deferred to the 14th.June1976,in view of the fatal plane crash.Were the contents,particularly the percentage of the oil royalty in the agreement dated 7th.June and 14th June similar?

Tengku : Yes.Both agreements were similar and no changes or amendments were made,only the signatories were different.Datuk Harris Salleh signed on behalf of the Sabah Government,in his capacity as Chief Minister and witnessed by Datuk Joseph Pairin Kitingan.

Ronnie : Tun Fuad Stephens boarded a Nomad Aircraft on the 6th.June.1976 bound for Labuan at 10am.In his entourage were State Cabinet Ministers of Sabah.What's mind-boggling is,why did Tun Fuad Stephens travel to Labuan with his Minister's to meet you,knowing very well that you would be in Kota Kinabalu on the 7th.June.1976 to formalized the signing of the oil royalty agreement? Was Fuad Stephens actual intentions to meet you in Labuan to re-negotiate the 5% as he finally realized that the percentage was insufficient?

Tengku : No.Tun Fuad Stephens agreed to the 5% oil royalty and he was not re-negotiating the terms.

Ronnie : Were you joining Tun Fuad Stephens on board the aircraft that was bound for Kota Kinabalu on the 6th.June.1976?

Tengku : Yes,actually I boarded the plane and strapped myself with the seat belt.I was together with Datuk Rahman Yaakub (Chief Minister of Sarawak). Datuk Harris Salleh then came on board and invited me to accompany him to Kudat/Banggi to visit his cattle farm.I subsequently unfastened my seat belt together with Datuk Rahman Yaakub and boarded another Nomad Aircraft.

When we arrived at our destination,we were immediately requested to disembarked and move away from the aircraft.I was rather puzzled and was later informed that the plane carrying Tun Fuad Stephens had crashed in Kota Kinabalu.I felt very sad,knowing I had just lost a dear friend.

Ronnie : So, Datuk Harris signed the agreement on 14th.June.1976 on behalf of the Sabah Government or more approximately on behalf of the people of Sabah.Tengku,Sabah being an oil producing state in Malaysia was once the richest state in the country.Today as you are very well aware,Sabah is now the second poorest state in Malaysia,although governed by Barisan National.Has any attempt been made over the last 34 years by any Chief Minister after the death of the late Tun Fuad Stephens to re-negotiate,request or demand a higher oil royalty percentage from the Federal Government?

Tengku : No Chief Minister has attempted to request for an increase of the 5% oil royalty from the Federal Government.

Ronnie : Sabahans have been crying foul over the manner that the Federal Government has been treating Sabah,do you honestly think that Sabah should be demanding for higher oil royalty?

Tengku : The people of Sabah have every right to request or demand for a higher oil royalty,the question is whether the Federal Government is prepared to oblige.

Ronnie : Tengku,allow me to sidetrack my next question away from the oil royalty issue.The upcoming Hulu Selangor by-election has now been fixed by the Election Commission.Nomination will be on the 17th.April while Polling has been fixed on the 25th.April,2010.In your opinion,how would you rate the chances of UMNO/BN and the Opposition?

Tengku : The Hulu Selangor by-election will not be easy for Barisan National.PKR will draw support if it's Malay candidate is good.Barisan National will not get the support from the Malays.

With that I concluded the interview.

Have the people of Sabah been betrayed by the greed and arrogance of the past Chief Ministers of Sabah? Will Sabahans finally decide what is important and what rightfully belongs to them or will Sabahans still continue to allow the crooks that walk the corridors of power to dictate and decide the fate of Sabahans at their own desecration?

I also attended the talk by Tengku Razaleigh themed "Minyak Sabah Untuk Siapa" which was organised by the Sabah Dusun Association and the Persatuan Bloggers Sabah at the Kadazan Dusun Cultural Association Hall in Penampang,Sabah.Ironically,the same Tengku Razaleigh that was so fiery and vocal in his speeches in Kelantan recently about how Kelantan was short changed,wasn't the same person.

The presence of "fully armed" police personnel at the venue was also mind boggling.Did the police special branch or UMNO play a role in toning down Tengku's "NO HOLDS BARRED" fiery readiness to expose the truth? Was Tengku Razaleigh going to disclose the truth of what actually transpired in his last conversation with Tun Fuad Stephens?Was there a hidden hand that prevented him from telling the truth?

What was hoped to be an eventful talk and dialogue about the oil royalty by Ku Li turned out to be mere rhetoric and a shamble due to poor turnout. It was not too well-organised - publicity materials were unseen,other then the banner located at the entrance of the Building,which was too small,that one needed a magnifying glass to read it's contents.To those that did attend,it was a wasted and frustrating night for many,as visibly seen by the disgruntled faces.

Nonetheless, it was a daring effort, and hopefully we can see some improvement in the near future.

A Blast From The Past.....Was The Oil Royalty 5% Or 20%?

Is the Petroleum Development Act 1974 unconstitutional? Petronas doesn't answer to Parliament and is only answerable to the Prime Minister of the day-hence if my memory still serves me correctly the Prime Minister of the day is Najib Tun Razak.But 36 years ago,the time the Petroleum Act was enacted,the Prime Minister was Tun Abdul Razak (22th.Sept.1970-14th.Jan.1976), while Tun Hussein Onn serve as the Prime Minister from 14th.Jan.1976-16th.July.1981.

Ironically,call it just pure coincidence,we are now seeing off springs in a similar capacity.But today we're more keen to re-discover the events that took place in Sabah,which could have change the fate of Sabahans,especially when oil was actually first discovered in 1882.

On the morning of June 6th.1976 @10am,Sabah Chief Minister born as Donald Aloysius Marmaduke Stephens and ,later known as Tun Haji Mohammad Fuad Stephens boarded a Nomad Aircraft from Kota Kinabalu and bound for Labuan. Along with him on the flight were State Ministers Datuk Salleh Sulong, Chong Thien Vun, and Assistant Minister Darius Binion. The purpose was to welcome Malaysian Finance Minister Tengku Razaliegh Hamzah and Sarawak Chief Minister, Datuk Pattingi Hj.Abdul Rahman Yakub,who were visiting the oil refinery at Labuan.

On the 7th.June.1976,the visiting Finance Minister cum Petronas Founding Chairman, Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah was scheduled to sign an Oil Agreement in Kota Kinabalu between the State Government of Sabah and Petronas. Unfortunately the signing ceremony never took place, not on the 7th.June.1976 anyway. The reason.... Chief Minister Donald Stephens, Salleh Sulong, Chong Thien Vun, Peter Mojuntin (the Golden Son of the Kadazans) along with 7 others perished in the controversial accident of the Nomad Aircraft carrying them on the 6th.June.1976, in Kota Kinabalu. That tragedy is also known as the DOUBLE SIX TRAGEDY or DOUBLE SIX CRASH.

The question lingering in the minds of Sabahans till this day is - was the final discussion prior to the signing of this Oil Agreement 5% or 20% ?? Will we ever know?

Catastrophically, after only eight days after the First Huguan Siou, Donald Stephens, perished in that controversial crash, and on the 14th.June.1976,the Government of Sabah signed an agreement with Petronas, granting it the right to extract oil and earn revenue from the territorial waters of Sabah in exchange for 5% in annual revenue as royalty.

Today, after 34 years, its questionable if National oil firm Petronas could be unlawful as its founding law was approved before it signed agreements with all the states, according to law professor Datuk Dr Shad Saleem Faruqi.

He also explained that according to the Malaysia Federal Agreement, land belongs to the states, which complicates the provision in the agreement surrendering control of petroleum found onshore under the Petroleum Development Act 1974.

“I think there are some aspects of the Petronas Act that is unconstitutional,”

Under the agreements signed in the mid-1970s all state governments were promised cash payment or royalty of five per cent for petroleum extracted onshore or offshore in return for surrendering their control of petroleum resources to the national oil company.

Shad also pointed out that the Act was passed before all the states had signed the agreement.

“The constitution says when you take somebody’s property you have to pay adequate compensation,” said Shad.

Federal powers:

In Schedule 9, List I of the Federal Constitution, the following topics are assigned to the Federal Government:

> Except as to State rights over permits and licenses, the Federal Government has rights over development of mineral resources, mines, mining, minerals and mineral ores, oils and oilfields, petroleum products, safety in mines and oilfields: Para 8(j).

> Gas and gas works, production and distribution of power and energy: Para 11(c).

> Foreign and extra-territorial jurisdiction: Para 1 (g).

> Treaties, agreements and conventions with other countries and all matters which bring the Federation into relations with any other country: Para 1(a) and 1(b).

Peninsular Malaysian States:

When it comes to Peninsular Malaysian States, the following matters fall in State hands:

> Land: Schedule 9 List II, Para 2(a). Under the Interpretation Acts, 1948 and 1967, Section 3, land includes “the surface of the earth … all substances therein… all vegetation and other natural products… whether on or below the surface… and land covered by water”. The territorial waters of Kelantan will come within the definition of “land covered by water”. Territorial waters are defined by Section 4(2) of the Emergency (Essential Powers) Ordinance No 7, 1969. Subject to some exceptions, they refer to three nautical miles.

> Revenue from lands: Schedule 10, Part III Para 2.

> In addition to the income from land, one notes that in Article 110[3A] there is provision for discretionary payment on such terms and conditions as maybe prescribed by or under federal law of the export duty on “mineral oils” produced in the state. Petroleum comes within the meaning of “mineral oils” under Section 10 of the Petroleum Development Act.

Sabah & Sarawak:

In addition to the rights of other states, Sabah and Sarawak enjoy some special sources of revenue.

> Schedule 10, Part V, Para 1 assigns import duty and excise duty on petroleum products to Sabah and Sarawak.

> Schedule 10, Part V, Para 3 assigns royalty and export duty on “mineral oils” totaling 10% to Sabah and Sarawak. “Petroleum”, as defined in the Petroleum Development Act, falls within the meaning of “mineral oils” and, therefore, 10% combined royalty and export duty on it constitutes part of the guaranteed revenue for Sabah and Sarawak.

From the above, it follows that the constitutional right of Peninsular Malaysian states is confined to fees for permits and licences and for extraction of any petroleum that is derived from their land and territorial waters.

Anything beyond territorial waters, e.g. on the Continental Shelf, is entirely in federal hands. All gas is in federal hands.

Legally, the oil and gas belongs to the states. The only way the federal government can ‘steal’ this oil and gas would be to come out with a new law that allows them to do so. If not it would be illegal for the federal government to touch the oil and gas. It belonged 100% to the states.

And this new law or Act called the Petroleum Development Act 1974 allowed the federal government to unilaterally (note the word ‘unilaterally’ and not ‘bilaterally’) amend the terms of the Federal Agreement. Normally, it requires all the parties to the Agreement to agree to any amendments to that Agreement before it can be amended. In this case, only one party made the changes (unilaterally) and the other parties were forced to remain silent.

The Federal and State Government of Sabah have a whole load of explaining to do.Were there two sets of agreement - one dated on the 7th.June 1976 and the other 14th.June 1976? Was the oil royalty 5% or was it more?

Why didn't any of the Chief Ministers after Donald Stephens demand for more oil royalty for Sabah? Sabahans have been hoodwinked long enough and the time has come for Sabahans to demand what rightfully belongs to them.The State Government of Sabah has been silent and it's quite obvious,they will remain silent-hence a puppet government.If history could be reversed would Sabahans today enjoy a much higher oil royalty had the illustrious sons and freedom fighters of Sabah did not perished?

Interestingly,Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah has been invited and has agreed to deliver a talk and answer questions in relation to the petroluem issue on the 2nd.April.2010 @8pm at the KDCA Buiding in Penampang,Sabah.I would encourage all Sabahans to attend this event and probably listen to all the unanswered questions.

Of 2nd Hand Gen-Sets & 2nd Class Fixed-Deposits

While our fellow Malaysians in Peninsular Malaysia are enjoying the luxury of un-interrupted power, WE Sabahans, on the other hand, continue to be marginalized as second class citizens and condemned to living in darkness. Forty-seven ( 47) years after the formation of Malaysia, Sabah still needs to "BEG" for development, which should be rightfully and duly provided. Foreign Investors as well as tourists are devastated that a state rich in natural resources, Petroleum, Timber and Palm Oil among other things is the poorest state in Malaysia.

The latest fiasco in Sabah is the discovery of second-hand generator sets, installed and commissioned by Sabah Electricity Sdn. Bhd. (SESB). Hundreds of millions are claimed to have been spent by the Federal Government. Ironically, after all the hoo-ha, Sabah gets 2nd hand sets. What an insult! Yet, imagine, the BN goons want Sabah to be their ever-dependable “fixed-deposit”. More insult!

Ordinary Sabahans are forced to swallow all the excuses, hoodwinks and bull-shit. It was a big surprise that the State Minister of Resource Development and Information Technology, Datuk Dr.Yee Moh Chai came out to ask the Managing Director of SESB, Baharin Din, to tender his resignation for failing to address the power woes in the state. It's rather amusing that Yee Moh Chai has unfurled his imaginary wings by portraying himself as an angel. Nevertheless, well done Dr. Yee. I suggest that if action is not taken against Baharin, the Minister resign his job to show he is sincere and means business.

To add insult to injury, Federal Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water, Datuk Peter Chin has vowed to resign by December 2010 if he fails to reduce Sabah's System Average Interruption Duration Index(Saidi) from 2,780 minutes per subscriber to 700 minutes per subscriber. This kind of political rhetoric - resignations or sabbatical leave are stone-age tactics. All these might well be a political ploy in forcing a coal-fired power plant down the throats of Sabahans.

And what stupidity .... with all the latest technology available and all the big and bold talk about "PRODUKTIVITI" , "MALAYSIA BOLEH" & "1MALAYSIA", …… the entire Federal and State Government has miserably failed Sabahans. Maybe someone forgot to inform these politicians that this is the 21st Century. Stop fooling the rakyat. A leader bears the responsibility of earning the respect of the people, not forcefully demanding it.

Looks like our political leaders’ wish is to become ‘emperors’.

In the process of being elected to run the government, we let our leaders gain control of the state’s ideological apparatuses and we let them own the Fourth Estate (the media). And that makes it easy for them to feed us with political propaganda and bull-shit daily. We let these ‘emperors’ portray themselves as bigger than life which is mere fallacy.

We have allowed our leaders to become autocrats and even kleptocrats.

But 47 years is a long time, too long a time. We cannot allow the situation to continue … NO, We cannot allow this mafiosos to continue to spill verbal diarrhea and pillage the nation.

The time has come and it is NOW - to make that inevitable change. The future generation's very existence depends very much on what you and I decide today.

Sabahans: It is time to speak up. The truth is undeniable, it is so evident.

Why would a state encourage illegal immigration in spite of strong opposition from its citizens?

According to objectives and norms the immigration department should be protecting citizens from being overwhelmed by migrants, that they and the state will monitor and restrict illegal immigrants’ entry into the country and strictly control citizenship applications on behalf of its citizens.

This is what happens in all democratic countries run by decent leaders.

“My research on Filipino immigration to Sabah shows how Malaysia utilizes census practices and documentation to incorporate an illegal immigrant population from the Philippines. Illegal immigrants play an electoral role in Sabah because of the loosely institutionalized nature of citizenship, a feature common to many other developing countries. Our examination of Malaysia reveals several elements of illegal immigration and citizenship that are common to migratory flows in other developing countries”.........KAMAL SADIQ, University of California-Irvin.

Barisan Nasional's "victory" in the 12th general election could not have happened had Sabah and Sarawak turned the chips around. But how did this happen?

Sabah's population has escalated from 3.1 million in 2003 to 5.1 million in 2009, according to reliable sources. Where did this 2 million people come from? Are these the " FIXED DEPOSIT " that Najib has been bragging so much about? Perhaps an immediate investigation should be conducted by the relevant authorities such as the, Registration Dept, Immigration Dept, Health Dept, the Police and the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission. There again, on seconds thoughts, it’s a vain cause. The outcome will sure draw blanks...’NO FURTHER ACTION’ as it has been in the past.

In a press statement issued by two(2) parrots aligned to UMNO/BN, namely John Ambrose and Clarence Bongkos Malakun, both have proven their worth as boogey men of UMNO/BN. Ambrose had this to say " developments in all areas are on-going and with the present undertaking among the people there is a strong tendency that the BN will again be retained when the next general elections is held".

Malakun however had said the BN government in Sabah, under the leadership of Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman, had been performing excellently, not only on matters concerning physical development but also on matters related to social development, particularly maintaining racial harmony among various ethnics here - “Indeed the level of tolerance among the various races residing in Sabah has been acknowledged at large, as unique, if not the best.”

Now, allow me to ask these self-proclaimed very "distinguished gentlemen" … what ‘people’ is Ambrose referring to and which ‘race’ is Malakun talking about? Either both are totally blind or they must be living on the moon.

On behalf of the people of Sabah and all Malaysians, we demand an explanation from Najib Tun Razak and Musa Aman to explain how in the world could "illegal immigrants" qualify to obtain cash payouts in the name of KUMPULAN WANG AMANAH PELAJAR MISKIN (KWAPM), through BANK SIMPANAN NASIONAL , BANK RAKYAT??

Ironically, schools are being used to authenticate the legality and authenticity of the applicant and recommend the students for such payouts. Is there a conspiracy guided by instructions from certain quarters in the government?

It's common knowledge that the issuance of Malaysian Identity Cards through fraudulent means is being used to legitimize "illegal immigrants" as voters. They automatically become bumiputras, are given land, projects and even stand as candidates as well as become Cabinet Ministers.

Documentary evidence has been produced such as in the publication of “I.C. Palsu” and sworn declarations of involved people. Till today, no action has been taken and the government refuses to set up a Royal Commission on the illegal immigrants and “Project I.C.” issue. Though unethical it may be, it’s not at all surprising as the word ethics does not exist in the dictionaries of the corrupted.

Claiming ignorance when there’s negative publicity is bliss in the political arena.

As such I wouldn't be in the least shocked if the present UMNO/BN government of Sabah denies or claims ignorance on this revelation. Such will be the arrogant statements of UMNO/BN "Pollute-cians" as their main priority is smooth sailing to victory in the 13th general elections.

The Opposition parties in Sabah should get their act together and start unearthing what's going on behind the scene of UMNO/BN and expose them, rather than demanding seats for the next election and clamouring for publicity.

A government’s main purpose and mission is to ensure the livelihood and wellbeing of its citizens in a fair, liberal and just manner.

Besides that, its primary objective is to ensure SAFETY and SECURITY of and for ALL ITS CITIZENS.
